This is kind of random, but, if you're waiting for a band, can you just sit down and take a nap? Like, if I show up for the Flaming Lips like 4 hours early, can I just lay out a blanket near the front of the stage and sleep till like an hour till the show?
we camped out for moe. last year, and there was this passed out guy on the ground next to us, waaay up near the front, maybe 15 rows back
he was asleep when we got there at the end of bela fleck and didn't get up til halfway thru moe. and then started rockin out again
he just grabbed a water and a beer and a cigarette and acted like nothing happened. his friends were all just like "yea hes cool just leave him, hes with us"
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

i took naps all the time. bonnaroo is a safe enviroment so you never have to worry about passing out and getting things stolen. if i was at a show early id take a nap .. wake up .. enjoy the show .. go to the next stage, and do the same thing. cause i didnt sleep alot during the night lol.
You're fine as long as there's no bands scheduled before. Every year I find someone trying to sit or lie down near the front and bitching that everyone's standing around them and tripping over them.
Not a bad Idea, I would say that an hour before the show you will be getting stepped all over though, there will be a ton of people there by then. I went to get a good spot for Trey in 05 on the same stage at the same time about 2 hours ahead of time (too bad the show sucked) and I already had to sit quite a ways back, and there was not enough room around me to stretch out that much.

I have a buddy like this at parties.. just passes out, wakes up and continues on.. I slept at Coventry in the crowd, was so exhausted from walking 15 miles and being wasted..
Well last year between Bright Eyes and Death Cab I was pretty close to the front, standing in a crowd of people. I just sat down, put my head on my knees and took a nap. I was asleep for about 30 minutes, and nobody really bothered me! Only at Bonnaroo
I stepped on a guy before Oyster Head. (I really didnt see him) he didnt even wake up at all .. nothing just kept sleeping .. I felt bad, but saying sorry to a guy who is passed out just doesnt work. People were laughing apprently I wasnt the 1st to step on him.

Rewind to 2003. gtwrecked and friends leave WSP with about an hour left to go to Flaming Lips. They are pretty close to the stage - gtwrecked then sits on the ground and falls asleep. No one hassles him, even as he quietly bobs his head on the ground to Saul Williams. When the Lips take the stage, gtwrecked's friend taps him and tells him they're on. Bam! gtwrecked is alive and rocking out!
Moral: Yeah, you can sleep up close. Even better if you let the people around you know what you're doing so they can make sure people leave you alone.
I might be arriving early Friday morning after driving all night. I'm considering going over to The Other Tent as early as they'll let me in, staking out a spot up front, and snoozing until the music gets going. I hope that's a feasible idea. Or maybe I'm totally mad.
I don't think it'll be a problem. It might be nice quiet shady spot until a little bit before the first band. There will probably be others napping there.

Believe me, you can sleep pretty much anywhere in Centeroo, anytime. Not necessarily recommended, but you'll see people passed out in all kinds of places. A very popular place to spend the night is hogging a sofa in the cinema tent.

Do I know you?
???
For real though, I've done that more times than I'd like to admit to. At Roo, I've passed out in a lot of less than perfect places/times, but I'm not sure I've done the crowd pass out. That said, to the original poster --> do what you have to do, man!
anyone else camping out for ween, im planning on catching the end of dj shadow and waiting 12+ hours. i need to see those beautiful faces up close and personal! i will be with about 5 people so if anyone wants to wait with us let me know! the more the merrier!

I'm not that hardcore about it. Plus, I'd miss Dr. Dog, Annuals and Xavier Rudd. Although I might skip Xavier Rudd to get up closer at the Ween show.
i dont know if they will let me stay, but ween is my reason for going to bonnaroo so i will dedicate every moment of saturday to being close to ween
that's cool. but i don't think you need to stay all night to do it. i think if you go a little before the first act of the day in that tent you will be fine. but even later than that, there is so much turnover with people leaving and coming in all day.
Yeah, I mean, I'm gonnba' be up for DJ Shadow too, but I'm probably gonna' sleep after that and come back in the morning and catch a few shows before Ween. I want to see them pretty bad, but I'm there to see other bands too. Plus, I won't be very dissapointed if I don't get right up front for Ween. I'd rather pace myself and enjoy the day rather than stress about it and spend my day in misery.
i think its a little crazy also but it was my bf's idea and he has his heart set on it. i mean if i got there 3 hrs early i pretty sure i'd be in the 1st 3 rows... oh well whatever happens, happens im just overly excited to see ween for my 1st time

blasphemy... don't miss xavier to get closer to ween. that would be sofa king stupid. respect for both, but you won't get THAT much closer by missing one of the best acts at bonnaroo, mr. rudd himself.

Meh...that's your opinion. I've been listening to Xavier Rudd for a little while now and I think I could live with myself if I missed his show. As long as I get in a good spot for Ween. But that's all I'm willing to sacrifice. I ain't spending the night there.
