Yep I use one of these Thermarest pillows. It compresses to a third (or they claim a fifth) of its size and is machine washable, so even if it does pick up some stank at a festival you can just toss it in the washer when you get home.
First year I went to Roo, no pillow problem. Second year it did get a bit icky but I figured if it was ruined, I could throw in the washer and dryer. It fixed it and went back on my bed.
Ditto everyone else - if chance of rain stick it (and the rest of your bedding) in a trash bag or your car.
