i was so smart last year! i didnt bring a pillow, because i knew it would be humid and possibly raining and dampness would get into the pillows for sure. damp pillows = yucky pillows.
i realized immediately after laying down thursday night that it is IMPERATIVE that i sleep with a pillow. thankfully i have a huge amount of insanely curly hair, which when put into a bun raises my head three inches. and its sort of smooshy. but yeah, it sucked.
anyone have any suggestions for me? i dont want a damp pillow. i also don't want an inflatable pillow. is there another option?

I've never had this problem. However, maybe bring an old or cheap pillow that you may dispose of after the festival. IMO, damp pillow>no pillow at all...

Have you looked up any vinyl pillow covers? They're pretty thin so it's not too uncomfortable, u can put a pillow case over it and u can bring an extra pillow case or two in case the one that's over it gets wet.

I've taken my pillow from my bed every year and never had a problem with it being damp..... although I think I put it inside my sleeping bag during the day while it wasn't being used, maybe that helped?
I just take a regular pillow but one year I did forget and just used an inflatable cushion. Worked fine as usually I'm pretty ragged out come sleep time.

For space saving reasons I don't bring a pillow. Instead, I put my shoes at the head of my sleeping bag and then fold up my towel and rest it on top of them. Sweatshirts work just as well, for added cushioning.
I know that probably sounds weird, but it worked like a charm and wasn't any bit damp
thanks guys. i think i might look for a vinyl cover. if not i will just bring pillows i dont like and stuff them in my sleeping bag during the day, which i put into the car.
They have those inflatable pillows to camping. I don't know how comfy they are, but they're probably better than nothing.
I had an inflatable pillow they are alright not the comfiest but definitely better then having no pillow. I usually just grab one of the old pillows off my bed and use it. Ive never had problems with a damp pillow just throw it in the car during the day.

I've always brought a pillow and never had a problem with it being wet. Possibly a bit cool/dewy but never to a distracting degree. Then again, since I use an air mattress my sheet is in a similar condition when I return at 3 or 4 in the morning. I'm just happy to be laying down by that time, though : )
I'm with gb0ost. Buy a cheap pillow or two at Wal*Mart for $3 and call it a day!
I have to go with the team, I haven't had a problem with dampness the last two years. Now I bring a pillow from my bed and slide a chillow in to help keep everything cool. I just can't sleep if I'm too hot. So add a cool pillow and a battery operated fan and I'm good to go.
Ikea sells a 99 cent pillow that comes compact vacuum rolled. By two or three of them and if they become too damp for your liking, throw them in the trash.

It sounds seriously wasteful to me. Cmon. Rationally speaking, you're talking about throwing away 3 pillows in 3 days. Yow.

Yeah....that does sound weird and uncomfortable....but I'm a wuss and need a good pillow. Props to ya for being able to pack lighter though
If you go to sleep and you're not so tired that you don't care whether your pillow is totally dry or soaking wet than you haven't partied it hard enough that day. My suggestion is to not care about pillows, just wear yourself out so much that you'd be content passing out in the grass - a damp pillow is 10x better than that, it'll seem like heaven actually
I used to stuff my jacket into my sleeping bag stuff sack before going to sleepy town. I'm a wuss now and take a pillow. They are kind of a pain, in that they generally take up a lot of room.
I like both the Thermarest pillows (which are nice because they're compressible and roll into a smaller size) and the Bucky pillows (which provide good neck support). As for dampness I'd say maybe store it in the car or in a plastic bag when you're not using it.
