Hello!
Last year was my first Roo and of course I am addicted.
Unfortunately I was not prepared for the hassle of getting water from the pods etc while camping. Live and learn right?
My question is this.
Can you bring a few five gallon water containers into the campground, pre-filled, without them making you empty them upon entry?
I know you can't bring anything into Centeroo prefilled but when they see four 5 gallon jerry cans on top of my Jeep at the toll booth are they going to make me drain them?
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.

I wouldn't think this would be a problem, but the FAQs on the festival website address this:
QUOTE The following items will NOT be permitted into Centeroo / concert venue (we reserve the right to add items to this list if necessary): bottles (other than sealed or empty clear plastic water bottles)
I suppose they don't really address the size of bottles, though technically it has to be factory sealed or empty. Your best bet would probably be to email your question to them directly. I think that's the only way to get a clear answer.

You can bring your own water to the campgrounds, as long as it's water. You could fill up jugs, buy a bunch of water bottles, fill up small containers, whatever.
One thing you can do if you're bringing any other coolers, is freeze all your water bottles or jugs into solid ice, and use those to cool your coolers. That way, you will have ice cold water that will gradually melt/thaw over the weekend, and you can save some money on buying ice.

I've found that the best way to smuggle water into Centeroo, is to fill a few dozen codoms with water and swallow them right before coming in.
Although it does have a few disadvantages, not the least of which is the logistical nightmare of recovery from the portapotty tank and subsequent sanitization procedures.
Actually, I'm starting to realize I may need to re-think this stategy after all these years and repeated incidences of severe diarrhea, projectile vomiting and other illnesses.

We usually would stop at the Walmart in Tenn. and pick up a few gallon water jugs. They're really cheap and we would use them for all sorts of things. You can drink it if you want. Use it to wash your face and hands. When they're full we would tie them to our tarp/shade tent to help weight it down.
we typically bring individual 3-liter water bladders, and a portable water filter... just fill up each person's water bladder every other morning from a trough.
