Executives at AEG Live, the promoter of All Points West, say they have not yet decided whether it will return for a third year.
“There is no question that our biggest challenge is finding suitable headliners, and it has been more challenging this year than in the past,” said Mark Shulman, a veteran talent buyer for AEG. “No final determination of any kind has been made for 2010.”
But many in the music industry doubt whether All Points West, which has been held in August, will return this summer. A number of prominent booking agents and other executives, most of whom requested anonymity because they did not want to jeopardize business with AEG, said that nothing had been booked and that it would be very difficult for AEG to put a lineup together this late in the year, since most artists’ plans for the summer were already set.
Seems to be kind of a thinning of the herd. Festivals have been popping up like crazy in recent years. But now, coupled with the crappy economy, some festivals are falling by the wayside.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.

These guys are so full of it. They make it seem like there are no "suitable headliners," available, when the truth is there are none available at the price that AEG wants to pay. And that's fine too, I understand it's a business, but at least say it's about the money. It always is. We're not stupid.
And they truly blew it with Rothbury this year. Everyone I know who has gone, myself included, would've taken some lesser acts just for the chance to be back on the ranch. If they had said something like, "We're strapped for cash so this year's Rothbury line-up will not include SCI, The Dead, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson," we all still would've went.
I know AllPointsWest cannot be compared to Roth, but I've had it with these AEG pr!cks at this point.
They had better lineups than most, but I still can't say I'm that surprised. The market got oversaturated over the past couple years, and some of these festivals are starting to go. Seems like only the ones that offer something special are the ones that are staying
