Just found out about this today. It's near Ohio University, Athens.
Loretta Lynn The Swell Season Sharon Jones & Dap Kings Man Man Billy Joe Shaver Black Joe Lewis & Honeybears Detroit Cobras and more for $40? Yes please!
If it wasn't 7 hours away I'd be all over that line up.
Luckily this is an hour from me. ;D And there is no need to camp, since I stay in Athens with friends most weekends anyways. I think I may just have to hit this up.

Check the sig. I'll be there. ;D I went on and got a camping pass. I'm not fortunate to have friends in Athens.

If you guys go to this, check out the Ragbirds. They're from Michigan. I just saw them on their first tour stop a week or so ago at a local pizza place/venue. It's a brother who plays guitar, sister who sings and plays violin, mandolin, percussion, accordian plus bass, drums, and percussion. I was fairly impressed with some of their jams.

I live about 20 minutes from Nelsonville. You camp near the gates to the festival, on the Hocking College campus. It costs $30 to camp for the weekend. It's primitive, with port-a-pots and handwashing stations. Nothing fancy. I've had friends who have gone, and they say it's pretty chill.

Disappointing additions (all small bands) but I'm still looking forward to this. Anyone going to this who isn't from Ohio may not know that there's an awesome park to hike/camp at near by called Hocking Hills www.hockinghills.com/ There's caves and waterfalls and stuff. It's cool. It should be a fun weekend of music and hiking.

Bummer. I was looking forward to meeting Garage since he's one of the only people who's postings I actually appreciate on this board . Maybe next time.
If ziggy, insidejoke or whoever wants to find me I'll probably be wearing either a black sabbath or grateful dead shirt, brown hair, glasses.

This was a great little festival. There was practically no security presence yet there were no problems and everybody was very respectful, just a great crowd all around. The scenery was actually really cool. It's in a hilly, wooded area with log cabins. One of them was used as an acoustic stage. Walking into this little cabin nestled back in the woods made those sets really unique and intimate. There were a bunch of good shrooms going around for really cheap so that was also really nice.
Man Man was pretty disappointing, last time I saw them they were much better. Loretta was great of course and Billy Joe Shaver was one of the highlights of the weekend. Swell Season was the last band of the weekend and by that time most people left so I was able to walk right up to the rail and I got a setlist. The music highlight of the weekend for me was a band I'd never head of called GIVERS. They reminded me of Animal Collective without the yelping vocals and it was more psychedelic. They're from New Orleans and I just noticed they're on the ACL lineup so if you're going, don't miss these guys.
Overall a great festival with a reallly nice vibe that I will definitely return to unless the lineup is terrible.

Thanks for that. GIVERS is a top priority for me at ACL. Sad to hear about Man Man.

I actually heard a firsthand account of that incident from a friend who was hanging out with them when it happened. After their set on Friday, they were just partying too hard and she fell on it awkwardly. Apparently the doctor was being a total asshole about it too. Oh well, it will heal and they'll be back. They're just such a fun band.
