Recently i was digging through my closet and came across something that help remind me of Roo. My sanuk's. I wanted to see what everyone else's looked like after the year or years of ownership.
Mine dug through the rain, the mud, the dirt, and wook goo in the water houses of roo in 2009. All Good 09', walking through malls, random hiking through parks, bike riding and recently snow.
Where have yours been? And let's see what they look like...

I bought mine for Roo last year. I wore them all spring prior to Roo, but only got to wear them on Thursday last year. They got so muddy, that I threw them in a bag and wore sandals the rest of the weekend.

I love mine, so far I have 3 pairs. The ones that went to 'Roo last year had a blow out a few months ago, but I'm pretty rough on shoes. I wear them every single day though.
Question: have you guys ever tried water proofing your Sanuks?

Nope never tried it. I know they are made out of different materials and I don't know how hemp, for instance, would repsond to a water sealant. try it out and let us know.

So update:
I was somewhat weary of a waterproofing spray messing with the feel of my Sanuks but it actually worked out quite well. The ones I tested it on were the Donna style, so I'm not sure how hemp or anything else would do but it worked great on mine. The only complaint I would have is that I also water-proofed the bottoms (I had noticed stepping in small puddles that the bottom somewhat absorbed liquid) and they are super slick on wet tile and surfaces of the like. But on wet grass and natural ground cover it worked like a charm.

I got a pair of Sanuks at the recommendation of someone on this board, and I love them. Possibly the best shoes I've ever owned. I wear them constantly, even as house shoes. I think I'm going to buy another pair before 'Roo this year. I am seriously in love and am so glad I took that suggestion rather than Crocs.
My Sanuks just arrived in the mail today and so far I love them! One question though...my feet are on the narrow side and the heel area feels a little loose. The length is fine but I was not sure if the material would stretch any more. Other than that they are great so far. Do you think i should just tough it out or go a size down?
I don't know how well it will work on a new pair, but mine tend to loosen up a bit after wearing them for a while and I throw them in the washer/dryer and they shrink right back up to the perfect size.
+1 Cheeky! i love the waterproofing idea. mine always get soaked from dew letting the dog out at night.
my last pair lasted 2 Roo's and probably 100 miles of hiking before getting demolished spending 2 hours in a river trying to pry a flooded canoe off of a rock last august. they were more durable than any shoe i've ever owned.
