feel like all the teams have enough flaws this year that it'll be tough to read into the rest as a negative. If the Dodgers don't advance, they don't have enough pitching. If the Phils don't advance, they haven't really hit in like 3 months, etc.

definitely the least sure ive been about our chances in a while.
not worried about today really, but I was hoping our wealth of experience would be our tent pole and it's a bit of a bummer to lose to a team that hasnt had a playoff win in over a decade

Hopefully we can win the non-Skubes games. Pitching did their job ok, aside from Framber, who seems to either have an incredible postseason or a horrendous one. I guess this was in the middle, but we needed an ace to show up against their ace. Still, no one really hit well aside from Diaz and Yordan, and Skubal was out after 6 innings. Left loaded bases on at the end.
No specific dislike for the Orioles but seems like they really wimped out at the deadline hoarding controllable guys.
I think the legacy of the Astros is less the trashcan stuff and more how MLB was forced to changed the draft rules. They were the first ones and the most shameless ones to do the all-out tank and pick first overall 3 years in a row. It's generally a good thing that's not allowed anymore.

I don't think anyone cares about that considering 1 didn't sign and 1 was absolutely terrible. and if we did anything we followed the Nationals model and unfortunately just didn't get a Bryce Harper and Strasburg out of it

The one that didn't sign turned into Bregman at 2, and they picked Tucker in the top 5 in that same draft.
If you're picking in the top 5 for 4 years in a row you're going to wind up with a lot of good players even if you botch a pick.
Worst possible lotto luck gets you the sixth pick so like.. who cares? By what you're saying a top five pick is still valuable, so teams will still tank.
Complaining about tanking is so funny to me. It's like complaining about someone investing.
