Rodrigo said he bought his first new guitar in 20 years yesterday in Nashville, a custom Les Paul electric. He decided to play it for us at the Ryman. As far as I know they have never played electric before. Gabriella stayed acoustic, but he said they were playing one of their old thrash metal songs.
I just can not say enough how amazing this show was. The opening band was a jazz trio with Alex Skolnick from Testament in it. He came out and played electric with Rod y Gab later when they covered a Pantera song as a tribute to Dimebag. His band was great as well sort of a Heavy Metal Jazz Fusion type thing. He had also bought a new guitar he broke in for us at the show. I really hope someone has this whole thing taped somewhere, it was an amazing night of music.

We definitely got to witness an incredible moment when he played that Les Paul. One of the things that is so special about them is the obvious joy they get from playing music and playing it with each other.
If Roy y Gab are playing ANYWHERE close to where you live, do not miss it. Seriously.
