I tried searching and didn't find anything but general beer threads. Due to the roo glass bottle ban, and the fact that generally available cans are akin to mopwater, do you guys have any recommendations on a nice hoopy, dark beer for your boy? I looove IPAs, so theres a start.

Just noticed a couple local grocery stores that just started carrying Fat Tire in cans. It's not dark, but it's definitely not mopwater. If New Belgium puts out any more of their varieties in cans, I'm hoping for some 1554. It's dark, hoppy, and delicious for sure. If worse comes to worse, and you just can't stomach Busch or Bud .... Modelo (darker) and Heineken (lighter) would be my choice for some quality, flavorful beers in cans.
^^^ Fat Tire for shizz, it's an Amber so if you like the red you'd love this stuff... also if you can find it, Dales Pale Ale is pretty darn good if you ask me ;D

although not my favorite outside 'roo, but the heineken mini-kegs are awesome! they're a good price, tastes better then the cans, and is great for sharing with a bunch of people.

I wasn't aware that New Castle was in a can. I've never seen that in Indiana but I usually avoid cans unless I'm broke and buying PBR.
the first time i ever saw newcastle in cans was at bonnaroo and still don't see them very often at home but i agree with you i typically avoid cans as well.
The Oskar Blues family is the way to go. Mama's Little Yella Pills for when it's super hot, the flavorful ones for the rest of the time.
Or if you're from the Houston area, try southern star's bombshell and pine belt.
Tried the Yella Pils the other day... delicious, and I usually don't like pilsners that much. The Old Chub, IMO and for my tastes, is disgusting... Gordon, while very good, just seems slightly underwhelming for an IPA, to me. Maybe it's too lightly carbonated?
Dale's Pale Ale is the best. I also love canned Warsteiner.
So how about good beer in cans that are a local trip if you're staying in nashville?
Because i know alot of you are from the east coast, and i don't know what the selection in nashville is.
Oh, and by the way, im for sure going with some PBR.
We don't have the best selection of canned beer here. You can get Fat Tire in a can here so that's what I always go for. I live in Murfreesboro (about an hour away from Manchester) and we have an awesome beer store here that is right off the interstate that has a pretty good variety of canned beer. I can get you directions if you will be driving thru this way.

Yeah that would be awesome. We're going to be staying in nashville right near downtown. Not sure if we'll be passing through at any point. But we're going 3 days early so we might make a little trip. I don't want just PBR... looks like from other posters having variety is the way to go.
