I went last year on the last day to see Yonder->Avetts->Widespread....it was fantastic. A great festival. Personally I could care less about the Flips but if Primus is there then I am there.

The Flaming Lips were the only band that interested me in the top billings off of this years Bonnaroo lineup, so Bonnaroo 2010 is a pass for me in favor of saving some $, some time, and catching a set that isn't being billed as a Pink Floyd tribute at Forecastle!
Love the lips. Hopefully Spoon is playing the same day.

i know one of the guys who is involved in the booking of this fest, and they tried to get tool but they cost more than they were willing to pay. tool wanted $400,000 but the promoters thought it was way too much.
on another note, i'm glad they moved it to the waterfront park this year, and there's several bands from my hometown that were asked to play (tillers, 500 miles to memphis, pop empire, foxy shazam) so that feels really cool.

Agreed! And no one's mentioned the Smashing Pumpkins add yet? I'm debating whether or not to get the 3 day pass or just pay for sat and sunday... I'm not really interested in anything I've never seen before friday but not sure if the deal is worth it.
So whats up with the rules for Forecastle as far as what you can bring in? how tight is security? I wouldnt expect it it be as loose as Broo but what can I expect when going in?
I just found out to this thanks to, believe it or not, a facebook advertisement. Not as many bands as roo that I'd like to see, but I definitely wouldn't pass up the opportunity to see the lips again. This year was my first roo so I'm a bit skeptical, how does this compare to it with the general atmosphere? If I severly enjoyed roo, would this be something rather similar? I guess I have to decide rather quickly granted its coming up rather soon
