Metal music isn't something I get excited about typocally, but a good friend of mine is in a local metal band called Ophiuchus, and they have a big show coming up this weekend:
Sunday, April 11th The Basement (8th Ave South, Nashville) 9pm $5
Even if metal music isn't your "thing" (and it's not mine either), the band would appreciate the support. The Basement doesn't typically book metal acts, so they want to bring out a crowd to prove local metal bands can draw a crowd at well-established Nashville clubs. The Ophiuchus guys work really hard to put on a high-energy show, complete with fake blood and head-banging!
I will be there so you'll at least have someone to talk to. And if you have any Nashville friends that enjoy metal music, spread the word and invite them.

I guess you're the wrong person to ask what kinda metal they play? I like the name. I've tried to tell people that there are 13 zodiac signs now, Ophiucus got added to the list and completely screwed up the "hey baby, what's your sign?" line that used to work so well for me in the 70's. Reactions range from apathy to anger. I need nerdier friends.
