Ok, so I am assuming we all already know what a huge negative impact all the bottled water people bring to 'Roo has, in terms of cost, trash on the ground, energy that goes into the production etc. etc. Bringing multiple "disposable" bottles and then tossing them is just wasteful in pretty much every possible way.
HENCE the reason I got excited when I found these Bobble Water Bottles on-line the other day. (www.waterbobble.com/) For significantly less than the cost of most water bottles (Nalgene, SIGG etc.) you can get a Bobble Bottle, that comes with a filter that will clean the equivalent of 300 bottles of regular water.
These are PERFECT for 'Roo. I just got my two in the mail...they are lighter and more packable than Nalgenes or SIGGS and the filter really does improve the taste and odor of the water - something I know people have complained about on the Farm. Between these bottles and the giant tap-water sites in CenterRoo, the only water I am bringing this year is for cooking and hygiene; no other bottles for me.
If you've got a spare $10, I really encourage you to take look and do something to help keep Roo clean and our environment healthy.

These look great. Are they available in any stores you know of? I'm just thinking about replacing the filters.
They're not in stores YET, but the site says that is something they are working towards having set-up soon. I imagine they will have them in Dick's and a couple other big name stores by the end of the year.

I was considering getting something like this some time ago for camping (a more robust version that deals with giardia and cryptosporidia, but costs like $50) but this is a great idea for festivals. I actually just convinced (literally maybe 20 minutes ago) my bosses to stop buying so much bottled water and get some water purification pitchers instead. I'm going to order one or two of these right now, thanks!

Now this is very cool! I always buy the bottled water in Centeroo because I can't stand to drink the free water. Do you think it will get rid of the smell also??

Kick ass! Ive been drowning in enough Kool-Aid packets it takes to take the sulfur taste away! I refuse to use bottled water just cause of the waste...argh. This is perfecto! Gracias!!!
Just got my two in the mail, drinking out of one now. Very easy to get going, just fill up with water and squirt it out through the filter one time (to clean any carbon bits out) and it's good to go! Thanks again for the excellent suggestion!

It's a carbon filter, so yea it absolutely improves the taste, and it ought to do some good for the smell too. My water is normal city quality stuff and mostly odorless, so I haven't been able to give it a MAJOR smell test yet...but these filters are similar to the Brita variety, and those definitely improve taste AND odor. I'm certain they will do good things for Farm quality water.
I'm glad you like 'em Wolf! Despite having pretty good water, I've been using mine regularly since they got here.
Oh and Sportny, they will def. hold up to that many refills. They are light, but sturdy.

We ordered our bottles and received them 2 days later! Only $9.95 + Shipping. $6.95 for filter replacement. 1 filter = 300 bottles!
We love ours! Its a great buy and its going to be great for bonnaroo and everyday use!
Do the bottles look like they will stand up to that many refills?
The plastic on the bottles is pretty thin, but its so you can squeeze the bottle. We have noticed if you squeeze too far it leaves little lines on either side were the plastic seems like it bent. We will see how the hold up, i will keep you posted! so far so good ;D
Yeah the plastic is thinner than something like a Nalgene bottle, but sturdier than most bottled waters. I think the shape is conducive to being squeezed too, I haven't got any stress lines in my bottles yet. I have no doubt it'll hold up for a good while, and hey if it doesn't I'm not out much money, I'll just pick up another one or two ;D

My plan is to freeze 2 or 3 jugs and use them to refill everything. I figure they should stay frozen/cold at least a day or two in the sun. Just remember that some water bottles the bottom expands when frozen I plan to pour out a little to be safe.

I just went ahead and ordered one - with as much water as I drink (we go through at least a case of bottled water a week at the house - just for grab and go purposes - plus refilling bottles at work from the filtered water pitcher) this just made sense
