What brand of tent r u bringing? I need a new one.

Marmot, North Face, Eureka, Kelty, etc... are all good brands. You can even get more expensive than those. My friend is looking at a two man all season tent that's almost $500 but he camps a lot.

I have a large Coleman and a two man Kelty which I think it is pretty bad ass. I'll probably never use the Coleman again.

wolf: ive had the same experience with my EMS tent. thing is like a rock - but no ventilation!

my gf wants to be able to stand up in the tent and i want 4 openings, even with a rainfly on..

I have an Ozark Trail too, but it hasn't gotten the greatest attention since it's cheap. Mine's held up pretty well though.

I have a Kelty four man and a Mountain Hardwear 2 man, both are great tents and have been through rain, snow, hail, etc.

My Kelty goes everywhere. It's a Gunnison 2 person and for the $100 sale tag, a steal.

If your only camping for Bonnaroo, I'd suggest just buying an el cheapo tent from Wal mart or Target. Just don't be sad when you have to replace it in a year or two.

footprints are damn expensive. a tarp a couple inches smaller than your tent work fine ... depending on the terrain, 3 dollar blue tarp or thicker does the job.

I've had this blue four person tent from Target for 12 years now. It's my festival tent. It has been with me to every festival I've been to.

It's been in every kind of weather, I think even snow once.

It was 30$.

I have never had a leak or a tear or a broken pole.

Sometimes you just get lucky.


This year I bought a larger tent because my family is getting bigger and the kids are interested in camping.

We replaced our tent with a new Eureka tent.

It has the built in power connections and lights. Set it up and love it.

Eureka and Kelty are solid "better-then-walmart" tents and if you camp beyond Bonnaroo they are a good choice. Just have to find the features you want.

lower then that, there are a few Coleman dome tents that are decent, just look for ones with a full rain fly. Seal the seams.

A tent's only real job is to keep you dry and privacy.

But take my word, put twice as much stock into ease of setup then you are now. I have a very nice Kelty 6 man, and it's a great tent. Not impossible to setup but I am bringing my little 4 man Coleman just I can set it up in minutes by my self.

and BTW never extend your ground cloth beyond the floor of the tent, it just acts like a rain collector and you'll have water between your tent floor and ground cloth.

I'll 2nd the Eureka Tetragon tents as mentioned by 'gainsb'. I purchased the same tent 2 years ago and have used it probably 20+ times since then. It holds up very well in the rain as long as you guy out your rain fly. The only gripe I have is when you have the fly off, there is very little privacy (but great airflow).
