We are coming from MD and are looking at hotel options for Wed night.
It seems Chattanooga has plenty of hotel options. About 60 miles from the venue? Anyone have any experiencing staying in this city, or planning on it this year?
I have found some options in Tullahoma , Hixson, and McMinnville as well.. these places appear closer. I thought I had read a couple people saying if you come into manchester from these spots on Thursday morning you get turned around?
Just looking for a little clarification/hotel recommendations.
We too are coming from Maryland. Our first year we stayed with a friend's relative in Bristol, TN. The ride from Bristol to Bonnaroo wasn't bad at all, we did leave late because we had to be social with the fam and ended up at our campsite in Camp Luke Skywalker around 5pm.
The next year, we realized the trip from Bristol wasn't too bad so we stayed at a hotel there, but left far earlier that day. We ended up at our camp (again Camp Luke Skywalker) more like 1pm.
We chose to stay in Bristol again because we found it so simple. Yeah, we don't get super duper early to Roo, but the second year the line wasn't too long to get in, we got a decent location, arrived in a decent amount of time. Bristol has a ginormous Wal Mart which is where we have stocked up on our stuff the night prior. We get in a good dinner, hot showers, a good night's sleep and head off. It has worked for us. Notsogood if you want to experience all day Thursday, but good if you want a comfortable trip from Maryland!

The Days Inn in downtown Chatt is reasonably priced, in a safe location, and (here's the kicker) has a 24 hour restaurant called the City Diner. I stay here every time I'm there. You might even be able to catch a show downtown at one of the local bars (I'm partial to the Market Street Tavern and the Pickle Barrel). Look this up my friend...
If this one isn't available, there are many downtown hotels that are reasonably priced. Chattanooga is a reasonably safe city, so find something in your price bracket, but stay downtown if you can. Might as well take in the nightlife while you're there.
