And I'm just bringing 3 or 4 mini kegs from work for 4 people
I'm sorry for misspeaking! Normally at a bar a "domestic" is a bud/miller/coors. Thats what I meant! I live in TX, and most bars here don't consider Shiner (a TX beer!) domestic!
Edit: I'm sorry, misTYPING!
Its ok, I'm a beer buyer for a living so I tend to get touchy with beers.
Say hey johnny boy, the battle call United we stand, divided we fall Together we are what we can't be alone We came to this country you made it our home
i was 18 in '05 and brought in two cases and a handle for myself. no problems from the people doing the search on the way in.
as long as you aren't pulled over on the way there i wouldnt worry about having beer in your car. just make sure you got cans or aluminum bottles. they really care about the glass.
Hey everybody... So this will be my first roo and I've gotta say I'm pretty pumped. I'm coming from Canada with a few buddies. I heard that at Coachella they only allow you in with one case of beer per person.. Thats not the case at Roo is it? And if I throw a bunch of hard liquor in water bottles am I going to get hassled about it? Sorry if these are dumb questions I really have no clue what to expect.
There may be a limit to prevent vending but it a generous amount. You can pretty much bring as much beer and liquor as you want. No glass. The Bonnaroo website will be updated with any limits set for 2011.
You can't bring anything but water into Centeroo, beers inside the venue are under $8 I think? Unlike Coachella there is no "beer garden" so you can drink anywhere.

Hasn't the "official" rule been two cases per person? Something like that......but it's more like a rule of thumb.
I know in '07 it was a three case and two plastic bottles of liquor per person. quackin' ridiculous. May have gone down to two cases, but even still that's a hellofalotof alcohol fer the weekend. Every year (except maybe that first one) I've brought alcohol back home.

one year we had 12 people, including myself, in our group. it was 3 cars and 1 truck. almost the entire bed of the truck was cases of beer. they tried to hassle us about it and said "whoa you can only take (i dont remember the number) cases per person". then we told them there were 12 of us and they said ok.
This year will be my 6th year. Bring your own beer. Shop for the type of beer you like (if not Bud Light), in a can, and ice it down well before coming in. If you keep your eyes open and shop in some different places it is amazing what type of beer you can find in a can.
I've brought in bottles a number of years and had them "tucked in" but it is simply not worth the stress any more of watching the gate keepers find and then keep what they discover so my group has started to just stick with cans and never been hassled about the quantity of what we bring in.
As for buying beer in Center Roo, I'm all for that given that it supports the local groups. What I do have a problem with, especially in the beer tent, is that they went from pricy beers in 16oz cups to the 10oz cups. Sorry, but I have a problem waiting in a line for tickets to buy beer I can buy at the Local Winn-Dixie that Bonnaroo calls "micro brews" in 10 oz cups. Not to say they don't pull out 12oz cups but the size of the cup has varied greatly the past few years.... while the premium price has not.

Wow!! I'm coming from NYC- first year, so hearing $10 for a pack of cigs or a beer is music to my ears. On a good night a bud light draft is on special for $6. My cigarettes cost $13.50. I think I need to stock up AT roo vs. before hand.

Just stop at a Walmart in Nashville before you get to 'roo and maybe again on your way home.
beer and cigs were crazy priced at roo, $20 for a 6-pack, $15 for a pack of cigs, I know i'm loading the rest of space in my car with booze and smokes for 20 people if possible.
I'd never buy canned beer from the general store at roo. The prices are just crazy. We usually scout around central Ohio the weeks before heading south to try to find good beer in a can: Newcastle, etc. and then bring a variety — and enough to last us. Between drinking our own and buying beer from the Centeroo beer vendors, we usually bring some of our supply back home.
Is this thread serious? Worried about being checked on the way in or even being pulled on the way there with some unopened beers in the car?
1.) Have an older friend buy a few cases of Beer 2.) Put all the cans in coolers (where they'll go anyway) and close the cooler 3.) If you happen to be pulled on the way (that shouldn't even happen) then don't be doing anything stupid and if it comes down to it, use the phrase "Sorry sir, I do not consent to searches" 4.) ? ? ? 5.) Profit

78/24 = $3.25.... Still a steal compared to buying everything in centeroo. Regardless, my group typically does 2.5 cases per person coming in. By the time we drink it, pass some to the neighbors, spill them, drop them, we're out by Sunday at 10pm. This doesn't even count all the beers we buy inside Centeroo, but then again, we like our beer a little too much at times...
I don't even bother buying regular beer at the general store. It's too damn high. Just stop by a Wal-mart on the way to 'Roo and pay the standard 15-20 bucks for a case.Since you can't bring beers in Centeroo, I just stop by the Brooers Tent and pay $8 for a craft brew. You are already spending 7 bucks for a Bud, might as well spring the extra buck for something of exceptional quality. Unless you really like Bud, then knock yourself out.

He means it. Literally knock yourself out fer likin' Bud. Hit your head as hard as you can against somethin', and when you wake up try some real beer.
In 2007, we were stupid and waited until last minute to buy beer (aka while we were waiting in line, some of us ran over to a gas station). Well....they weren't open because it was 8:00 a.m. in the morning. And they weren't going to open up for awhile. Ugh! So we were stuck buying beer inside. $60 a case at the General Store! And this was 4 years ago! We decided to walk offsite to the closest gas station and buy some there. It ended up being a 9 mile trek - half of that carrying cases of beer. Funny thing is that was Dust-a-roo and it was so hot I don't think even half of that beer was drank.
