This just happened today. Hopefully its filled and fixed in the next 3 weeks looool.

Traffic heading from Nashville to Chattanooga could be snarled for much of the day.

A giant sinkhole has closed a 17-mile stretch of Interstate 24.

The hole opened up this morning sometime before 9:00 around mile marker 127 in both eastbound lanes.

T-DOT closed the Interstate around the sinkhole diverting traffic onto highway-41 at exit 117 and re-entering at mile marker 134.

Geo-technical engineers have been called out to assess the situation.

The hole is reportedly 25-feet long, 25-feet wide and 20-feet deep.
