What does everyone think Shakedown will be like this year? With only a handful of bands that cater to the Shakedown crowd, what does everyone think this year's street will look like? Will there even be one? How was it last year (although with Phish I assume there would be some more vendors than otherwise...)
I think I remember 06 having a ton of vendors, so did 07, less in 08, a good many in 09.
As far as the Shakedown product, so to speak, the more jambands the better, though I expect it to be fine. If that's what we're talking about. In those terms, last year was best, I'm sure in no small part to Phish.

Shakedown definitely took a hit last year when they formed the anti-vending team. All of the unofficial vendors were never allowed to set up, and the walking vendors seemed to stick to the food alley on the way to Centeroo. I doubt it will be any different this year. I've never had such a hard time finding corns.
It really is a shame because the best glass was on shakedown and I've spoken to one of artists who usually does Roo and other fests and he's not even going to bother anymore, even though it's the closest/biggest festival for him.
People will be on shakedown no matter what bands are there. It's all about making money.
This is the truth. Even back when I use to go to GD shows there were plenty of Shakers that never made it in a show all tour. They were out there hustling and partying in the lot all tour. They can say it's about the music all they want but when you have the cash and opportunity for a ticket and you choose to stay on Shakes and hustle your actions speak louder than your words. There will be a Shakedown wherever tens of thousands of heads gather. That's the fact jack.
Over by POD 8 or 9 depending on what year we are talking about. There is this family with this kid. Probably about 8-10. He has awesome blond dreadlocks.

I've talked to them at their food tent the last couple of years. they did say that 09 was probably their last roo because of the new rules and costs of being an official vendor. sad really
