Hehe people are going to say I am insane now, however that is o.k. and I am all down for it. Shower tents are extremly expensive vs. what you get. And the double ones that have room for a shower and bathroom through the roof. Here is a better way I was thinking to myself that I could build a shower tent as Wal_mart has stopped carrying them in my area there are few options but to order online. So was thinking why not build it out of pvc pipe then slap on some tyvek sheating on the sides. I had been considering tyvek for a long time as a way to add sides to my cheap canopy to block out some sun. So I started digging around and found this site www.pvcplans.com/atv-golfcart-quad-cover.htm along with this one as the main site. www.pvcplans.com/pvc-pipe.htm so anyway I am now thinking to myself why not cover the entire area I camp tent would have extra shade and I would have a "full bathroom" utilizing a solar shower bag and a luggable loo 5 gallon seat cover. Any thoughts suggestions criteiquing? Please fell free to leave comments good or bad I will take all criticism etc. or any modifications etc into consideration because according to Chris hanson I am the most controversial man @ ROO'. I figure this will fit into the ambassdor from pod 6 who is claiming to run a theme of "radical interaction ala burning " would want I feel these structures could greatly improve the quality of the community on the cheap leaving us more income to dispose f as we all know best at the festival via. tie-dyes souveniers and mementos. Peace

also I fell that is time to peruse the net again and find a far better structure that will fit my campsite will definentally be figuring a way to elevat my campsite to resolve any flooding etc. in case of monsoon whatever I figure with a 5 gallon solar shower toilet tent cooler lawn chairs etc. that all of this on some sort of stable platform will weigh the "house" structure down and keep me cool and shaded. leaving a nice area to chill in mount a fan in the top and boom a fully sealed bad ass site.

i was just going to take a tarp and hang it from the van some how and then use my camping shower which will be on the roof..
but if you make your shower enclosure with some sort of locking pins you can take it down easy... hummmm how you got me thinking.. i already have a load of pvc for my 12 foot flag (with pins for easy disassembly)
where do you plan on letting the water go tho? i was condering getting a small baby pool.. you could also wash your feat in it..
This is my thing re: showers set up at camp. In '08 we had a shower tent, but we hardly used it and also lucked out with a mondo-big camp area right next to a street so the runoff didn't go into our or our neighbor's campsites. But I just think showers at camp can be a real crappy thing to do to your neighbor - the runoff has to go somewhere...
I'm a girl, I am pretty high maintenance, and I never felt the need for more than a big keg cup and a wash cloth at the troughs.

i was actually debating getting a blow up pool.. so you could use it for the water runoff and would give a place to wash your feet... (should only cost like 5 bucks at most for a crappy small one)

even a small one would take some effort to fill up, but I like the idea.
We did the shower tent thing last time, not bad. Think I am going to rough it this year. Baby wipes for nether areas and just use the water bag to wash head,
Um it's only a few days. There are water stations all over. The ones in the camp grounds have fresh clean really cold water. The only time I have encountered bad smelling water was in Centeroo.
I really think that you will be just fine with out a shower tent. If you really can't go four days without a hot shower then just buy a shower tent bag for 10$ and fill it up and put it on top of your car. Trust me, after a few times of lugging a five gallon bag from the water station you will wonder if it's really all that important to have a hot shower.
I have been doing music festivals for over 12 years. The only time I brought a solar shower bag is when I have the kids with me. And I'm used to taking showers everyday at home too.
So instead of wasting the time and money to have this elaborate set up, pack a wash cloth and soap and some shampoo. Enjoy yourself.

i was going to bring/build a whole shower set up... but i decided it would just be better to pay the 7 bucks and take a shower friday night or something. that way i dont have to bring any extra crap and dont have to worry about drowning my neighbors in my sweat-water.

We just put our Hoola Hoop shower together today. We are staying in an empty catering trailer. It has a rooftop air and lights so it's good enough for us! Anyway, we got a $10 walmart plastic pool that is about 4 feet across, we then hung a hoola hoop from the ceiling and put a shower curtain around it. It is right next to the back door, so we can just dump our water out if that will work, and if not we can empty into a 5 gallon bucket. We'll have four five gallon buckets full of water with us when we get there, and this thing called a "Texsport" shower pump that just dangles down into a bucket of water and pumps to a shower head via D batteries in a waterproof pump. Total cost: $40 or so.

The rules say no "box trucks" but nothing about empty trailers. Last year, they had a pdf guide that was dowloadable (I can't find a downloadable guide this year, just the one posted under info). In that guide it said no busses or motor coaches or boxtrucks, but nothing about trailers. If anyone finds it in writing I'd love to see it though. Our trailer is an empty, insulated and paneled trailer with an AC, electricity etc. I hope it's kosher cuz it's goin.

You can also use a refrigerator box. stake it down, and cut a corner to make a door. makes a good bathroom too. just dig hole and trench in the corner.. almost instant pisser.
greatest thing ever was bringing a shower bag and a kiddie pool! i got to shower every day and it felt great!!!! total cost was 30 bucks... and my group and i all showered everyday! After a hot day and before a crazy night, its the best thing every

We actually bought a big shower tent. Amazing. Worked great. We loved it. Only a few drawbacks are that is more to pack, and the thing has lots of assembly. Takes ten minutes to get it completely done. Well, I am too short to reach the double hook with five gallons of water without something to stand on. LOL! The solar showers were overheating in the sun this weekend! The shower tent is worth the money if you got more than one camper!

My first 2yrs, my camp brought a solar shower (got it cheap @ WalMart) and put a portable, self-composting toilet in there. Just scoop some peat moss in & voila! Dump the bag on the last day & keep the cushy toilet seat we bought @ a hardware store. The peat moss absorbed odors & liquids! The shower water (we had 2 full bags) absorbed into the ground pretty fast: '07 was the dust bowl & '08 was damn hot, too.
The ONLY drawbacks to having a solar shower in GA camping: somebody cut the guylines on 1 side. We put it away from tents & cars, but still... Also, crickets/little bugs always get in there, so your Rubber Ducky time is never a solo act. Aaaaaaand, ladies, be aware: your silhouette is visible when you shower at nite. Still, it's worth it if you don't go VIP.
