On the Veggie Bus! Biodiesel, Vegetable Oil, and Sustainable Touring, A Panel Friday, 3:30pm-4:30pm, Saturday, 3:00pm-4:00 pm Join a wide array of Bonnaroo activists and artists for a panel discussion with Q&A about how to go on the road without wrecking the planet. Panelists include members of the band Dubconscious, an activist from the Sequatchie Valley Institute, teachers from the National Outdoor Leadership School, and more.
Bellydancing Thursday, 4:30 & 6:30pm; Friday, 3:00pm & 7:00pm; Saturday, 1:00pm; Sunday, 1:00pm and 4:30pm Join teachers from the Gypsy Hands Healing Arts Center to learn a uniquely world-conscious art form called “Tribal Belly Dance.”
Breakdancing Thurday, 7:00pm; Saturday, 6:30pm; Sunday, 7:00pm Experience the freedom of movement and create art in the spirit of conscious Hip-Hop with the breakdancers of the Hunab Kru.
Leave No Trace Based on a national education program dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible recreational practices, teachers from the National Outdoor Leadership School will apply ideas of wilderness ethics to living and camping on the land at a rock festival. Interactive Painting Workshop Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:30am-12:30pm Beginning Friday, you can paint the festival purple, paint the festival proud, just plain paint the festival! Let passion be your palette as we join Tennessee muralists in making Bonnaroo our canvas. Presented by teacher and painter Viva Jackson and her team of artists from all over the region, including the renowned Appalachian Center for the Crafts.
Interactive Theater Workshop Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:30am-12:30pm Learn theater by doing theater. Get playful. Become a play. Perform at Bonnaroo. When you become an actor and the grass of Planet Roo becomes the stage, your life is art, and art is your life. Save Our Cypress Forests Sunday, 3:00-4:00pm Cypress forests are the Gulf’s best natural storm protection and important habitat for wildlife, but they are being clear-cut for the sole purpose of producing cypress mulch. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm really interested in the "Building With The Earth" and "Building Green in the City" workshops. I'm a carpenter in the city, so most of my work is remodeling. SO MUCH WASTE! I try to bring as much as I can to a program that re-uses building materials, but there is still a lot of junk going to landfills. Many of my clients are super rich and have no interest in re-using materials. They would rather have a brand new product. The solar energy workshop also looks interesting. Countries like Germany are requiring up to 20% energy use to be solar in the next decade. They are actually getting close to that mark already. Solar energy IS viable and the technology gets better when it facilitated. Again, thanks for the post Anu.
