Less than two weeks away and my Roo pile has already started. Now comes the time to buy the last of the necessary rations and equipment. My question to you, fellow roo'ers, is what are your favorite beers for the weekend on the farm? To make it interesting, what is your generic brew choice, along with a favorite that you'll also bring along?
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
We usually bring Budweiser because its the only one that everybody can agree on. We all have different tastes in beers. My favorite beer I've ever had doesn't come in cans but the brewery is in the broo tent so I get my fix. If you guys go in there, try the Brooklyn Brewery Lager. I love it and it just recently started being sold here in Michigan.

I'm going to have some MiniKegs(no heiniken...yuck), I'm not sure about what else since I'm not a fan of IPAs or Stouts so that leaves a limited number of beer options
Say hey johnny boy, the battle call United we stand, divided we fall Together we are what we can't be alone We came to this country you made it our home
bought 15 assorted 24 oz. cans for $.98 ea. yesterday. All general, bud, bud lite, keers lite, and miller lite. I'll bring a good 12 also. I'll hit up the brooers tent quite a lot.
Last year I went to the local supermarket and asked them to order Dale's Pale Ale. But I didn't drink enough and wound up guzzling the last day or 2, and gave some away. Kinda defeats the purpose of having a decent beer, really.
This year I decided I'll buy some Sapporo, and perhaps a few oversized cans of Foster's. Foster's always whispers "get your buzz on" to me, for some reason. My cooler will make an appearance at the Inforoo brunch.
If I want good beer, I'm gonna hit the gourmet brew tent hard this year.
Steela! as in Steel Reserve... I love good/real ales but this is a definite quandry as 90 + % come in glass. Anyone else besides Heineken make pony kegs ?

We just hit the beer store today. We went to a huge beer distributor (PA) and I was actually surprised how many awesome options we had available in cans. We came away with:
30 pack of Miller Lite (for the hot parts of the day) 24 pack of Newcastle 24 pack of 16oz Red Stripe! 24 pack of Dale's Pale Ale 12 pack of Foster's oil cans
All of this is for 3 guys that like to drink. I'll probably grab a plastic 1/5th of captain this week and we will be set on the booze.

Anyone going to risk bringin down some nice beer? I'm thinkin about it, but only if I could meet up some other Beer Geeks and maybe get a mini-tasting going on, anyone down? Either way, I'm going to have a bunch of canned beer at my site; Harpoon, Cisco brewing, New England Brewing Company, Oskar Blues and 21st Amendment.
Also, will definitely have some homebrew no matter what! Find me, I'll be more than willing to share

Might have to take you up on that offer, here in NY i can't fand anything decent in a can so i'm thinking about putting my bottles in my suitcase with clothes wrapped around them

Sounds pretty good.
Though I hope the rest of New England Brewing's stuff wasn't as bad as the Elm City. The bar I regular at once had a keg of the stuff, and it wasn't very good.

I just noticed that the Brooklyn Lager is now being sold in cans at our local whole foods:
Not cheap at 8.99 a 6 pack but so far probably the best canned beer I've seen in our area.
