So lets talk about rain gear -- I am obviously bringing a few ponchos (probably like 10 dollar store ones) and then a few bathing suits. Are sandals/flip flops the way to go or should I spring for those mud boots?

I would say it depends on your level of comfort with mud and the durability of your feet in wet shoes. During the rain last year, I had sandals and no rain jacket. I was pissed at first, but eventually quit worrying about it.

If it rains for a full day there's going to be lots and lots of mud. I remember in 04 and 05 the whole place was one big mud pit. I would definitely have some sturdy shoes in the car just in case.

I took some galoshes last year, wore them on Friday I think and regretted it. Sooooo hot. If it rains, I'll be going barefoot or wearing my tevas. I could care less about those and they'll stay strapped to my feet. The mud in 04 was ridiculous. I was ankle deep in mud while listening to Trey conduct an orchestra.

I always were low top hiking boots. They are breathable, waterproof, and light, plus nothing like passing a bunch of people on the way to a good show. Mud or rain...no problem.
I just bought a pair of bogs -- if it DOES turn out to be a monsoon (which right now the accuweather says we're getting rain starting Thursday night through Saturday night) then I'd rather be too warm in my feet than soaking wet. If I don't need em, then bully.
Last year we lucked out that the mud wasn't horrible after the first day (at least in Centeroo). I wore my flip flops through the monsoon on Thursday and that was fine but I know that if it got worse on Friday I woulda been screwed.
How are Teva's in the mud? I can not wear socks/shoes in Tennessee heat. I have to wear sandals, I plan on purchasing a pair of Teva Dozer's next week. Will I end up with Jungle foot wearing them in the wetness?
I bring a full rain suit and high-top waterproof Vasque hiking boots. When it rains I seriously don't care. You just have to expect COLD rain and bring a sweatshirt to layer underneath.

I used Tevas last year. And I'll be using them again this year for sure. If they get muddy all I have to so is wash them off. Unless it's sunny the whole weekend, I got some wicked tan lines last year. haha

flops are comfy and all, but on mud they are slippery on both sides...i think i am gonna wear my old crappy hikers and just sacrifice them to the roo gods after...like my crappy shelter last year...and my crappy leaky tent the year before...<looks at post> maybe i should get my shit together...
im just planning on my merrels and a poncho for rain. it has gotten me through several wet backpacking trips so i imagine it'll suffice on a muddy farm.

I think crocs are the ugliest thing in the world. I don't care how comfortable they are. No one should wear these. Ever. Except for my Grandma when she gardens.
I have a pair of adidas deck shoes for showering. A pair of birk sandels. A pair of adidas samba sneakers, and my rain boots.
I bring these four pairs of shoes with me to every festival. I always use them all unless it doesn't rain. Then I don't use the rain boots.
The last thing you want is to have only one pair of sneakers and have to walk around the next hot sunny day in soggy smelly shoes. Yuck. Not good for your feet and your neighbors noses.
Well I have a stupid question. I did buy rain boots and they come up to about mid calf. But...they're kind of big around my leg. Will my boots fill up with water?? I kinda think they will.
