I live locally. We have standard tickets. We need to be able to get in and out daily. We won't be attending until Friday afternoon. I'd appreciate any recommendations on where to park. I don't want to get stuck there for 3 days just because I can't move my car. Don't mind walking.
Day Parking opens on Friday and it is not too much of a headache. When you come through the checkpoint, tell the staff you need Day Parking. Last year , they drew a "D" on the windshield, then directed us to a parking spot. You'll be able to get out easily when it's time to leave.
Your car will probably get searched each day you come in, but by Sunday, they usually just ask you if you have any glass and wave you through.
If you don't want to park on site in the Day Parking area, you can pay to park in a couple of areas before you reach the site. The winery at the end of the road charges $5 a day, and there are some fields and private yards that will let you pay to park, too. This doesn't make a lot of sense of the first couple of days, but if you want to leave on Sunday, it can save a lot of time getting out (just be prepared for quite a long walk).
As a local who has attended every Bonnaroo, I can tell you that you will have no problems parking in day parking from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. I've done it many times, and you won't be double parked or tented in. After moving from Tennessee to Austin in October, I will be flying back to attend this year. I am renting a car and using day parking all weekend while I sleep and shower at my parent's house just minutes from the farm. I'll be attending Thursday though, which means walking in on foot, bypassing the whole "camp setup" stage, and going directly to Centeroo to hang out with all the people camped out in BFE who start coming in late Wednesday night when the campground opens early.
