i have gone every year. have been in groups with 25 people and have gone by myself. i LOVE going by myself. i see so much more doing it solo. i'll be solo this year.

Nobody really goes solo. Once you get there, you'll make friends with your neighbors before anything else happens. That is the way of the farm. So don't sweat it, and enjoy the bus ride.
sup dude! this will be my 7th year! in the 7 years I went alone once - and when I went alone - I came home with twice the stories and experiences. Because of this, I'm going alone this year. Its a treat sir! I recomend going to the wal-mart party and meet some buddies before the show even starts!
Going solo too, man. Been 4 year in a row with at least 1 other person, never done the solo trip. I'm a bit nervous about it, but I think people are right, it's gonna be a blast solo.
Of course there are advantages and disadvantages of both solo and with ppl. One thing's for sure.... if your rolling solo you definitely wOn't lose your friends! ;-) then again, theres times when u really need a friend. Lucky for you, You will have 60000 friends all around you. Have a good roo amigo.
all my friends have been backing out like crazy. thought i was at least going to have my cousin with me and now he is selling his ticket tomorrow.... this will be my first roo and am kind of nervous going solo but also looking forward to not having to deal with making tons of people happy. cant wait to just BE on the farm!
looks like I'm going solo too... I'm no stranger to travelling alone, but I haven't been to Roo yet, so this should be fun. would be nice to share the drive in (stuck in traffic) with someone though..

I'm flying solo too. By air from Syd - LAX - Nashville, by Greyhound from Nashville - Manchester and then on foot from Manchester - Roo. Not only is it my first Roo, but it's my first music fest, period. Nervous, excited, but mostly ready to get out there and just do it!

Wow, that's a long way to go for your first fest!
I've gone solo for the last four years, but will be camping with up to seven others this year. I've had a great time every year, but the first and third year I didn't have the most friendly neighbors. In '08 I had great neighbors to hang out with in the mornings and who always seemed to be at camp whenever I went back during the day.
Last year I volunteered for the first time (at Roo, I've volunteered five times at other fests) and Volunteer Camp was a great experience, esp. Busaroo on Wed. night.
I'm sure this is gonna be the best year yet. But I still expect to spend most of my time in Centeroo wandering from show to show on my own, but probably meeting up with others from camp for certain shows.

I'm going alone too! I'm taking the Greyhound from Davenport, Ia all by myself. haha Kind of nervous but mostly excited! If anyone wants to meet up or help me put up my tent or something get ahold of me: mbg@iastate.edu
