Hey all. heading to Bonnaroo for the first time this year, I can't even handle the wait. Driving from near Philadelphia with two others. Just a question about the size of the campsites. The Roo site says you park your car and pitch your tent right next to it. Are the campsites big enough for a tent (4 person tent) and a 10x10 canopy? I don't want to lug extra stuff there if it's not going to all fit. Thanks for any help you guys can give!
I think technically each car that arrives is allotted 10 feet X the width of the car. For a tent and a canopy, I doubt you will have any issues. These dimensions aren't hard and fast, and often times a quick conversation with your neighbors can solve any space disputes that arise.
Also, just to help you envision the logistics a little bit better, you actually generally set up camp in front of or behind your vehicle, not on the side.
Thanks for the quick answers guys. I'll just bring everything and see how it is when I get there. I'll probably be starting more threads since this is my first time and I'd much rather hear advice straight from people who have been there before than from the Roo website itself.
The last two years I have gotten about 20 to 25 feet deep X the width of my car. However, alot of people will get like 12 feet. You will most likely get more than the 10 feet stated on the roo site.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
I am worried about the size too, I have a 9 x 13 tent and a 12 x 12 canopy, hopefully we'll be able to squeeze it all in. Think we'll have any problems?

I have 3 cars of people pulling in to camp. We're hoping to set up 2 canopies and 3 tents. Sounds like it should work.
When security is directing you to park is it easy to leave a little extra space between vehicles or do they get upset?
If you swing wide, the guy might give you some attitude - but just keep on keepin on. By the time the guy can argue with you about it, it's already too late as they have to keep parking people.

This happened to us last year. We were some of the last vehicles coming into Camp Mr. Miagi and the guy told us up front he wanted all (4) of our cars in tight. We simply did what we wanted, he glared at us, fussed, and told us to fix it, then walked away never to be seen again. We had plenty of space.

I had enough room for a 10x10 and a 4 person tent last year with enough room left over for a nice front yard. The key is to push limits with the parking people without being a total dick. Also, it helps to work with your neighbors to get the most space for everyone.
I responded in your OP about the tent and EZ up - you should be fine.
Swing wide, but not super wide. They WILL make you reposition your car if it's too obvious. If there is a cute girl in your party, have her be the driver once you get into the Farm. Dcbee drove us in one year and smiled her big smile while swinging wide and they didn't really blink. ;D

^I've got a tent similar to this and haven't had a space problem. Aside from being a little defiant to the parking guys (who are volunteer workers and don't have any authority to do anything if you don't do what they say) it's probably more important to make friends with your neighbors immediately. You'll likely end up starting some long term friendships in the first 5 minutes after you get out of your car.

we were really tight one year and what we did was to wait til the neighbors set up and then we went back and put up our shade tent. we had to tied on to them and sort of go over the front of their car alittle bit but they didnt care. we ended up having plenty of room even though it was hard to get set up at first.

It's really not alot of space, and every year I show up and see it I wonder how we are going to fit our tent and canopy in such a small space. But it always seems to work.

We did something similar to pull our tarps and screen room tight and also make a clothesline to dry things out after the Thurs night storm last year. We tied our screenroom to their tarp room. Neighbors and us both benefited and gave us both some added protection from things blowing away.

I have the same question. You would think they'd at least give us some extra space between cars when parking us since some people may have wheelchairs/crutches/walkers, etc...
