I have an ez up type canopy. I have tarps for extra shade, but should I let them hang down, or stake them to the ground at an angle? This is for extra shade while under the canopy, I will have one going over my tent to the ground for early morning. Thanks!
I've done both. I wouldn't do them at an angle unless there was something you were putting under the extra space (i.e. tent). That's just me though; I don't think it really matters.

EZ UP types are much better than a screened in gazebo type imo. They're much sturdier and easier to connect tarps to the sides. Plus the 5 minute set up is pretty sweet.

Last year i bungied the tarps to the top of the EZ-up frame, and I staked down most of my tarps, the ones that i didn't stake went crazy in the high winds during the tornado warning, Im doing the same thing this year, except I'm staking all of mine this year
In some other thread, someone made a diagram of what they did. They bungeed their tarps to the legs of the EZ up at top and bottom really tight. Then he slid the tarps up to cover sun, later in the day could gather the tarps in the center where the sun was and allow air flow from top and bottom, and when it rained pulled tight so it covered from top to bottom.
I have never done this concept myself but it seemed pretty brilliant.
