My experience is that if you freeze a bunch of water bottes (usually two dozen for us) they keep the 5 day cooler cold without dry ice. We also have a "day cooler" we stock each morning to minimize use of the five day.

Eyemask Extra Car Keys
Also, I bring a small rubbermaid tub and a brush (like a dish brush) to put near the entrance to my tent. If it rains, you don't have to get your tent all muddy inside.
Remember, shade on the East (compass) and plan for some sideways rain (hopefully not though)!
Yup, water is never really an issue. We just like to use the bottled water instead of ice. Makes less mess and adding in tea/kool-aid to icy water is refreshing. I still drag a reusable bottle around to Centeroo.

I have a case of water, and some gallon/.5 gallon milk jugs frozen for ice already. Good to know. I did plan on using one cooler for everything, and stocking a smaller cooler for each day.
Yeah. Bottled water is unnecessary. If you have freezer space at home, you can freeze gallon milk jugs of water and get even bigger blocks of ice that will last longer than the water bottles you'd buy at the store. If they're too big, just take a hammer to them followed by a razor around the base and make some smaller "cubes." and if you drink the water out of the slowly melting milk jug, you have by far the most refreshing drink available in the tennessee sun.

I over did it my 1st 'roo in 08, here are the things I think you could do with out, but hey if you have the room no harm to bring it. I'm just trying to simplify my self. Also depends on how many you have in your party. I'm going solo so that helps lighten the load.
Tape - Electrical and Duct (Gorilla?) - may come in handy I guess
Gold bond - have not figured this one out. Tried it once and it didn't do anything for me after 30 minutes
Tarps, and more Tarps - Extras are good, but I spent too much time fooling around with multiple tarps. keep it simple.
Dry Ice - I used 1 gallon milk jugs frozen water, still had ice on Monday morning, may save you a buck. Also don't fill them up all the way. Ice expands, leave a few inches and push out the air and cap it.
Camelback - I haven't figured these out either, seems like an awful lot of trouble to be able to drink with out opening a bottle. I think my buddy abandoned his after the 1st day.
Flagpole + flag (Any ideas guys?) - over rated in my book, there are enough land marks around to figure out where you are. But that's just me
Glowsticks - think they are banned this year, but there are lots of "banned" things
Clorox Wipes - I just used a baby wipe to clean the seat before I went, not germ killing but one less thing to carry, and it would sux to mix up the Clorox and the Baby ones, lol
Toilet Paper - just use the baby wipe, cleaner anyway
Purell - that lasts about 2 sec, but if you have "issues" go for it
Water - Frozen bottles - see the milk jugs for ice, carrying around water just becomes a drag
Gatorade or Drink mix, why do both? I have a V8 in the morning myself. Really helps keeps things in "check"
Mini Pasties - hiding your nipples? lol
I just remember we brought all this camping stuff and didn't use it. You won't be spending a ton of time at your tent other then sleeping.
suggested adds
Light sheet - it get hot in the morning and a light sheet may help you get that extra hour of sleep Spare cell phone if you have one.
One of my gallon jugs is frozen tea think about making you green tea ahead of time and freeze it.
Jacket - good chance it will rain, and at night it will get chilly, chilly and wet suxs.

Campsite necessities - (my humble opinion... attended past 3 roo's) tent shade canopy chairs table (1) Mallot or Soft Hammer (to drive tent stakes in the ground) bungee cords(tent and canopy never fits back into bag just bungee it closed) lantern(Camping lantern to find my way around the campsite)
anything else, we didn't get the chance to work out b/c we had no experience with tarp and the tent fan kept on getting stolen between members of our group and nobody even realized.
cooler ( my group of 4 have agreed on just 1 this year(most we brought was 3 cooler last year), but my BF is really good at buying ice every morning) Booze (we're bringing more than just fits in one cooler, but we are not morning drinkers so the cooler will be refilled with fresh beer and ice and we won't miss any while we wait for them to cool) Chips/salsa (Tomatoes help in the sun) - Chips are the best!! Goldfish crackers Trail Mix Fruit Juices in little bottles Fruit cups Red Bull mini's Gatorade dry mix
Glowsticks - think they are banned this year, but there are lots of "banned" things
I thought glowsticks were illegal every year? Regardless, I brought in a whole duffel bag full of them last year and they didn't confiscate them during the car search.

Regardless, you will have a blast.
I've been on many camping excursions but few festivals. This is a packing list for myself and two friends.
Tape - Always gotta bring some, never know when it might come in handy
Gold Bond - I'm a larger man and Chafing is an issue not going to leave home without gold bond!
Camelbak - Another camping festival requirement in my eyes. Water/gatorade during the day and mixed drinks at night. A lot of my swim trunk/board shorts don't have pockets either.
The flagpole is more so other people from my home town can find myself and our camping area.
Purell is for my buddy, just needs to sanitize his hands constantly.
Mini Pasties - HA! A pastie is a food with Meat, potatoes, and vegetable in a crust. Great energy food. You can try one at the Brunch.

FWIW, my camelbak was crucial last year. Carried all my shit plus I drank a ton of water since it stayed fairly cold and was strapped to me. I would hate to carry a water bottle around all day. If you have the room, bring it all.
YOu can get a tent fan at walmart for around $15. Saw one at Dick's yesterday that had two fans and a water mister for $60.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good
great list - pretty comprehensive. you got ropes / bungees on there?
there are a few things you could probably do without, but if this is your first go and you have the room, bring whatever you think is best.
what i dont need you might - so someone might say "bring 1 square of tp and a book of matches - all you need!" but you might require a butler for the weekend.
Make sure you bring an extra article or two of clothing. The rule of thumb is to bring one more than you think you would need. Running out of (semi) clean or dry clothes on Sunday is no fun.

This is Roo 2 for me and I went by Leo's guide last year and have altered my list for this year. Last year I had no shade but I learned my lesson. My question is....what exactly are you guys using all of these tarps for????
if you're travelling far (i'm from NYC) bring a clean fresh set of clothes specifically for the drive/ride home....sucks being stuck in a car for a long ride while wearing filthy clothes

This almost always happens to me. I love the gas station stops after you leave. You (and everyone around you) will start noticing how bad you smell...

Fans for your tent. I CANNOT stress this enough. I have 3 this year. The cool air helps you sleep plus the buzz of the fans help keep outside noise out! If more than one person is in your tent, I would get at LEAST two...

Tent 2 x tarps Extra stakes Mallet Duct tape Chair Water bottle Inflatable Mattress Sleeping Bag Head lamp Combo flashlight/glowstick/rape whistle (tent marker) Camera Phone Laptop (don't want to bring it, but since I'm reporting I kinda gotta) Powerboard (for media tent) Baby wipes Ziplock bag Toiletries (deodorant, tooth paste, toothbrush, gold bond) A good attitude 1 x hat Flip flops Gum boots 2 x shorts 4 x tees 1 x hoodie 6 x underwear 3 x pairs of socks 1 x buff 4 x cheap ponchos Box of bandages Sunscreen 1 x towel Granola bars (emergency meal)
I'm not a big eater (I can easily subside on one small meal/snack a day and I'm happy to get that from a stall), I generally prefer warm water and any drinkie drinks I consume (if any) will be a spontaneous purchase. Plus the heat isn't a big deal for me...90+ is hot, but that's 3am on a summer night for me so I'm somewhat acclimatised to the discomfort. Plus once I hit Manchester I'm on foot, so keeping it extra light.
Please consider wearing a pair of shorts too. Topless girls = good. Bottomless guys = a very bad thing.
This is cruicial. Anyone remember the fat naked guy from Tool in 07? He was like a breakdancing beached whale, freaking out, parting the sea of people. Disturbing to say the least.
