So it's starting to look like I might be heading to Bonnaroo solo for the first time this year. I certainly have no problem with that - but I'd love to meet up with a few folks before heading in so we can share some resources and have some extra space in the camping area.
I'd head to tent-only, but I really think I'd prefer camping in the lots with the car. I've got all the necessary equipment already - EZUP, tent, coolers, cooking gear, etc....
So if anyone else is heading in solo, or if you just want some help expanding your camping area, lemme know!

since i'm going solo and covering the festival this year, i'd love to meet up with anyone who would love to share their thoughts on roo for my blog - www.brokenmic.com - last year i basically just wrote about my trip down and what i did and who i saw each day. but this year i want to get other peoples perspectives on things, hopefully/maybe some people back in the media area and maybe some vendors and stuff like that - not everyone gets to chill out and party, some people have to work really hard - and for that, i think we all greatly appreciate it

To the OP; Why would you want to camp in GA when you can camp in TO? That doesn't make much sense to me.
I really just like the idea of having my car right there - great place to keep stuff secure and dry. Plus, I really like being out in GA - the walks to and from Centeroo are one of my favorite parts of the whole thing!
My cousin and I are leaving from jax Wednesday evening. Don't know where in fl you are but I'm always up for expanding the camp site. May be meeting up with a few other cars as well so we can try to space everything out as much as possible.

im going down with small group of 5 as of right now...we are DEFINATELY looking to expand the camp and have a sweet little set-up...i know we're going to be bringing a portable shower, etc... we're coming from just outside Toronto Canada and anyone who wants to chill out or camp is welcome!..we love to have FUN and drink and PARTAY!!!! lol so lets get together!!!!

I keep everything locked in my car unless I need it. Not being able to do that would make me feel really insecure. Here's a few reasons...
At Langerado '08 my tent flooded within' a few hours of getting there, my blankets, pillow, and most of my clothes were NOT in the car and it sucked pretty bad. The next day my tent blew away in a crazy windstorm and some campmates found it upside down like 50 yards away. Nothing important was in it that time.
In '08 at Roo, someone stole ALL of my friends stuff out of her tent on Thursday night. Mine was locked in the car.
In '09 my tent flooded on Thurday night, thank god most of my stuff was in the car, unfortunately my pillow was not.
At Vibes last Summer my neighbors left their cooler full of beer out on Thursday night and when they came back, it was gone. Mine was locked in the trunk of my car.
I also keep my cash stash hidden in the car. I would not want to carry the amount I bring with me around all weekend.
At festivals my car becomes a giant combination phone charger/safe-deposit box with air conditioning.
Also, if I went to Tent Only my OCD tendencies would force me to go check on my car at least once a day anyway, and probably more realistically like 2 or 3 times
Wow man you and your friends have had some bad luck
We got parked in the ass end of BFE last year so walked our junk into Tent Only. I was not cautious in the least, usually left the beer cooler sitting out in the open, stuff laying around the campsite under the EZ-up, etc. Nobody touched any of my stuff and none of it got wet / destroyed. Actually I did have a cheapo pair of binoculars that disappeared sometime during Roo, but I can't be sure whether they were taken from camp or if I dropped them somewhere in Centeroo.
Not saying I don't see your reasoning, of course. I'm camping next to my car in Access this year and definitely looking forward to the possibilities of phone charging, spontaneous air conditioning, security, etc... but none of that really bothered me last year. Except maybe the phone being dead. haha

For some reason, I thought the OP was walking in.
I agree that it will be nice to camp next to our car this year. I wasn't very cautious in TO last year either. We left most of our stuff out the majority of the time without problem.
LRH, you have had some serious bad luck. In all my days of camping at shows, I've had one styrofoam cooler stolen from me at the Gorge.

^^^ I'm guessing that in the tent only community there are consistantly more people around watching out for each other's stuff? If I was going to steal, that wouldn't be my 1st choice. Also, until last year's BFE experience, I've always lucked out with a spot 5 minutes or less from the Ferris Wheel
In '06 and '07 I left my crap out pretty carelessly and had no incidents
It wasn't until crap started happening to me and around me that I got uptight about it
