These YouTube clips of Wayne just keep reinforcing the idea that he's a thug and a hack. A good number of my friends that are into rap and like quality rap (Tribe Called Quest, Outkast, Kanye, JayZ, Roots, Mos Def) hate Lil' Wayne. The biggest Wayne fans I know are all in high school. Not to sand like an ass, but it's true.
Even if I were to like Wayne, most of his songs are more party/fun oriented and not serious (Lollipop, Got Money, Every Girl)
I would like to preface my statement by saying I in no way want Lil Wayne anywhere near the farm, ever.
That being said, to write him off is complete nonsense. The Carter I, Da Drought 3, and other mix tapes hold up to of the above mentioned artists. Even select tracks off Carter II & III hold up as well.
Now as a performer, I have no interest either or the crowd he would draw. Really, Roo with Eminem and Lili wayne as headliners? I honestly could see them getting away with one of them late night, but booking both would be an epic failure.
PMO and your lil wayne. Let me clue you in a bit. Nas, one of the best story telling rappers of all time basically came out and yelled his way through his show with Damien. He sounded like some guy yelling at kids to get off his lawn. The studio versions of his songs he didn't yell at all. He had a subtle voice even. This is an experienced vet. He couldn't come close to what the studio versions sounded like.
Lil Wayne would be a far cry from his records on stage. He would yell and sound crappy. He would bring that rascist element that a lot of none-roo hip hop shows have. He would show up late. He would basically make you dissappointed in him.
Considering he got busted coming into the our country with drugs, he certainly isn't too intelligent and every time you make a statement supporting him you are saying, "I am dumb too, look at me."

I'm not a big Lil Wayne fan but this is a pretty stupid comment. Have you ever seen Wayne before or are you somehow basing his potential performance on Nas'. How exactly do you know that he would be late?

LOL So you're argument is that lil wayne is more professional than Nas? Wrong. Have you ever been to a hip hop concert? Screaming into microphones and showing up two hours late is the norm for lots of hip hop artist. Jeezy, Weezy, and Kanye have all been notorious for both. Lil wayne being a buster on stage is all over youtube, and considering he is rotting in a cell right now, his performance isn't going to get an better.

How exactly do you see that my argument is that lil wayne is more professional than Nas? Maybe you should try reading and understanding what I wrote. And yes I have been to many hip-hop shows and outside of Kanye being late both times that I have seen him that is the only personal experience that I have with hip-hop artists being late. I try not to make generalizations... but you can do what ever you wish, it just makes you sound kind of foolish.

I did read, after you called my argument stupid, I returned the favor. If Kanye is the first time you heard of a major hip hop artist being late for a show then you are pretty cut off from the hip hop world.
curteebee is right maki, maybe YOU should learn to read and understand. black people are late to everything. always. they are also lazy. also, asians can't drive and women shouldn't vote.

I didn't read anything past the last page of this thread because I don't give a shit, but I assumed it was a joke. was someone supporting lil wayne at bonnaroo?

That's exactly why I think he should be there. I'm not even gonna argue with you guys. I'm not opposed to anyone being at roo. There are a million other rappers that could show up besides Eminem and Lil Wayne, and I would be just as happy. You guys take your music WAY too seriosly, and it makes you guys sound arrogant and ignorant, even more so than Kanye and Wayne combined. Wayne is OBVIOUSLY a great MC. If he wasn't he wouldn't be as successful as he is. Music doesn't always have to be serious or deep. Tons of the rappers/bands that you want playing at Roo instead of these two artists have just as many songs that are "Fun". The two main reasons I posted this thread is to give Hip Hop (In all it's wonderful forms) a more dominant presence at this festival, which obviously prides it's self on variety. And that is why I love coming here. The other reason, is because I knew it would drive all you elitist assholes insane. And I love that. I would just love to watch the looks on your face when you ask some of these other rappers "That deserve to be at roo" their opinion on Wayne. I'm almost positive it would differ very much from yours.
If this thread gets locked, that's BS. It's a legitimate thread, in the right forum. Just ignore it.

I'll have to have a talk about it with some of the other mods.

Just change the title of the thread to: "When a bad thread turns strange."
Ban me for what? My foul language that I don't use? The way I constantly attack other people for expressing their opinions, because mine differs from theirs, and obviously I am more superior?
I have no problem with terrible bands playing Bonnaroo if I think they will draw a large crowd. This opens up tents for other acts for me to enjoy. Eminem and Wayne would I'm sure demand headliner status and not draw much crowd forcing me to watch good shows from outside the tents. This I do not like.
