Last year we carpooled/caravanned it down to Roo from the DC metro area and camped with the car, but this year everyone seems to be busy. =( It's just my boyfriend and I going and my car has over 200k miles on it so I don't want to chance it; his car is new so he doesn't want to put miles on it. A rental car is too expensive and switching off driving between 2 people is too tedious so we decided to Greyhound it.
Does anyone have any experiences with riding the hound? We are planning to pack carry on 2 backpacks and check a canopy, 2 chairs, and 2 duffel bags. How far is the walk from the station? Will there be those little golf cart taxis at the entrance?
Let me know about your Greyhound/tent only camping experience!

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I'm from the DC area and live in Morgantown, WV now and I'm looking for people in need of a ride because I'm not trying to go down alone. So if driving the three hours to WV is an option, you can get a ride from me. Message me back on here if interested.
Ugh the hound sucks... its ok if you have music or can sleep but 20hrs is a long time, also you have to make sure you don't fall asleep while waiting for a transfer. I'd do anything you can to find a ride(s) from DC with some roo'ers. Im in Ohio so I can't really help. Best of luck to ya

No search the last time I went on the greyhound If I remember correctly.
Just make sure to put the luggage tag they give you for your bag on your bag if it's going under the bus. A few people lost their luggage that way when I went to Roo on the Greyhound.
