Thanks for that. Used the Bing map distance calc app to run a few calculations. The longest distance from Centeroo fountain is out to the end of BFE. I plotted points along the roads and came up with 1.5 miles; I thought it would be worse than that. The far campgrounds across Bushy Branch are a little over a mile.

If you click on the Map Apps you can download a distance calculator.
But I measured from Family Camping to What Stage & it said 4.6 miles. Surely that's not correct, right? (This is my first year, so I don't know relative distances)

I know it's around a 10 minute walk to Centeroo from family camp so nope that isn't right.
FYI That is not this year's setup.... I remember looking at this several weeks ago and it was the same. Cool nonetheless and great timing on Microsoft's part!
2007 post-festive is when this was taken The comedy tent was still a rectangle, no VIP hill, and no retention pond in the admin area. and the paths are well worn so it has to be after the shows..... sound right? CANT WAIT TILL THIS YEAR
This is likely 2007 but I believe it is a pre-fest photo because the lines on the fields are all very clean and have not been trampled on by 80,000 people and all their cars.
The Ferris Wheel is usually still being set up when we get there on Wednesday. It's actually pretty cool to watch them put it together and test it out.

Walking the road, you should get something that looks like this:
I'm getting about 1/3 of a mile. It isn't much of a walk, really. A hot one, but not long, especially if you've got a wagon to tote them in.
It's actually from Sep 18, 2007, to be precise. Google Earth (http://earth.google.com/ not to be confused with Google Maps) has an option to view older pictures of a place, and it has the same photo cached. You can also see the pristine farm from 1997, if you were so inclined.
Yah, i was right, thats strange that they keep most the tents up till mid September....... the farm looks so much better now then in 1997, be on site in 5 hours!
