Since I'm Greyhounding it this year, we'll have no cooler. I remember our bread in 08' wasn't in the cooler and it inflated and had condensation inside the bag, which creeped me out. It was just white bread.
What kind of bread should I take if we won't have any cooler?
I was thinking pita bread might be a lot better. I just plan on making pb sandwiches. Maybe tortillas? That might be gross
I think pitas may be your best bet. And it's the sealing in the plastic bag that causes the scariness - if you can take them out and put them in something breathable they will be less likely to get all funktastic.
yes i use the pita pockets. they are less likely to go stale and they wouldnt take up moisture as much as white bread. they also squish less. i find them easier to handle and hold as well. stuff doesnt fall out of it.

I brought wheat bread last year and didn't have any issues with it.
I brought wheat bread last year and all it did was b!tch everytime I looked at a piece of white bread. Talk about issues, sheesh....
Wheat bread has been known to be jealous and controlling and have daddy issues. I never look at white bread in wheat's presence. It's not because I don't want to, but because I don;t want to deal with the fallout...
We brought bagels last year and they held up perfectly fine. For future reference though, onion bagels will make everything in the cooler taste like onions, including the bananas
