Murphy rolled with it as well, he was just kidding around.
I suppose. I dunno, I just thought something wasn't right with their performance, and seeing them again confirmed it for me. He just seemed distracted or something. Maybe he was just tired. It wasn't an awful performance but it just didn't sit well with me for some reason
Thank you mcbeatzthebopit for bringing it to my attention that LCD will be in Philly 9/24 I need to get on a move on that. This roo show was my first every LCD show so I have no comparison. That being said the only show I enjoyed more was Dr. Dog they quacking killed it.

you really do! it's gonna be awesome, its an end of summer party and theres an awesome afterparty afterwards, PLUS its at the Philly Naval Yard. AND apparantly Sleigh Bells are also playing. WHAT.
I'm already excited. I got paid direct deposit 1 hour ago and bought tickets. I've never seen a show at the Naval Yard but from the looks of your post it should be good. Sleigh Bells is just the icing on the cake, haven't seen them live yet.

Nor have I. I really wanted to but as mentioned in the sleigh bells thread, their shows are like 25 minutes long and I'm not into paying to see a headliner play for 25 minutes, so I'm glad they have someone bigger playing too. Theres supposed to be a crazy after party as well, with a "super huge special guest that is top secret," according to the R5 newsletter.
Does anyone have any recent, good quality bootlegs from when they've been opening up with "Dance Yrself Clean?" Like, their ACL show or something? I would be very grateful.

Saw them a few months ago. Wasn't at Bonnaroo this year but if it was anything like the show I saw then I dont know how people were complaining. So much fun. So much dancing and moving. And the crowd was awesome despite being small. And I got to meet James before the show. one of the best ive been too.
Setlists are better now though. Dance Yrself Clean is an amazing opener and amazing live, and Home is an amazing closer

I enjoyed them more on their recent tour. I agree the setlist was better. Also, I wasn't as tired/intoxicated/etc LCD were great at Bonnaroo, I think overall, to me, it was just that they were overshadowed by other groups (which I didn't expect, as they pretty much topped my most anticipated list), so I didn't find myself raving about them as much afterwards

^^^^I know what you mean. You overanticipated, just like what I did with 2009 Bonnaroo and ended up being a "disappointment" with the fact that it wasn't. However, I think I had too high of expectations: ie, all night Phish shows, the Boss belting out old tunes that haven't been played in years, the Beastie Boys equaling their performance at the Orange Peel a few night before where they played 30+ songs... Yeah, but LCD caught me by surprise and I thought it was damn good. Happens to everybody: you go in there with high expectations, you get disappointed...you go in there with a fresh mind, it'll be blown.

Not to mention the naked guy on PCP walking through the crowd. Big thanks to Wayne Coyne for taking him down!
This show was ten times crazier than I anticipated. I didn't expect it to be so rowdy. Maybe it was just were I was standing. I was eight rows of people from the front of the stage, dead center. It was nuts.
I still can't believe we got to see LCD at 230 in the morning in a tent and they still brought an enormous amount of energy. It was pretty amazing.
This!, I wish I could have caught them on the new tour legs, but it just was not in the cards. I was not really familiar with them until this year, and Bonnaroo is the only show I caught. I am still a little irritated at not seeing DYC, but I am glad I caught some of the earlier stuff they are not playing now. Taht was an amazing show including the naked guy getting tackled.

There was one point where he got really close to me, and some hardcore guy standing right beside me just started pushing him away back into the crowd. Next thing I knew, he was on the ground punching the quack out of him. I couldn't really enjoy the show until that guy got taken away, because I wasn't sure if I was going to get rubbed up next to a naked guy/trampled from a crowd trying to beat up a naked guy!
I saw someone get tossed over the rail and dragged away by security. Didn't realize he was naked. I thought he was just tripping balls and/or dehydrated. I remember something weird happening with dehydration because all of a sudden, Murphy went back behind the stage and then security came out with cases of water bottles that they threw out into the crowd. It was soooooo hot in that tent that night. Never forget that experience or performance, though. So fucking glad I was on the rail for it.
I was one person away from the rail smack in the center of the stage, and the naked guy speared me right in the middle of my back with the top of his head. It was like I didn't even slow him down. Next, he was trying to get over the rail and everyone's trying to push him over, but he was kicking his arms and legs around and nobody could get near him. Finally, he got over. I didn't hear about Wayne Coyne until I got back to PA on Monday. And yes, the crowd was much more "rowdy" than I expected them to be. Still, I thought that show was incredible.
