edit: i trimmed out all the schizophrenic rant because it was pretty negative for trying to keep a positive outlook. i hope it didn't bring anyone down that saw it. i have a disorder that makes being around a lot of people really weird sometimes but i am really glad i got to go to bonnaroo for the first time. i think it was important that i went and i saw a lot of things i need to work on to keep getting better. i'm going to go again, but i will be smart and work up to it first with smaller festivals. maybe i can handle it by 2011 thanks again guys and sorry i was so negative

He says he has schizoaffective disorder. Be nice. Mental illness is hard. Have you ever talked to someone with a form of schizophrenia? It's much like reading this post.
indigrain... I'm sorry that your illness kept you from enjoying roo. It is a very overwhelming sensory experience and can be hard to process. Kudos to you for giving it a try and for coping the best that you could. Take care of yourself and be careful in your journey. Seek help when you need it and be safe.

All of this, and also, maybe a smaller fest would be a little easier to deal with?
Yes. There are moments and clusters of moments when 'Roo becomes improcessable. The sensory deluge misassigns relevances away from the initial, instigating stimulus, and you find yourself in a torrent of crosscurrents and spray. Peace of mind is lost in the froth. I'm lucky, 'cause with time, a couple of days, a few weeks, a year... relevancy distills from the mix, and events return themselves to some semblance of order on the bookshelf. Pages get rebound into roughly numerical order between the front and back covers, and beginning again becomes distinguishable from the finish. Rest easy.

yeah sorry guys for the long rant, i tend to forget that can be intolerable to many. i am doing much better, thanks for the kind words. i think smaller festivals are best. the big magnified scope of it all showed me a lot about myself and my life, though, so i am definitely glad i went, hands down. just wish i can hurry up and get to a point where i can actually be around people and enjoy them. at any rate, if you see a frantic crazy man just being thrown all about bonnaroo next year, well...chances are, you are at bonnaroo. but on a smaller chance, might be me trying at it again. peace, all
