^They are supposedly almost done with their album which should be out by the end of the year. Which usually means that they will tour the following year. Their 06 show goes down in history as probably the "best" show of any roo. Next year is the tenth year. I'm thinking it could really happen.

I really, really, really hope so. I have yet to see them. Along with The White Stripes and Outkast (and maybe Arcade Fire), they top my 2011 wish list.
FRI What: Wham! Which: No Doubt[LN] SAT What: Aerosmith [LN] Guns and Roses Which: No Doubt(TWO LATE NIGHT SETS!)[LN] SUN What:Kings of Leon Which: Biz Markie!
that one has 5.5 headliners. how's about the first person that posts a list with only three headliners wins?
The formula for the last 3 years has been 4.5 headliners (although this can be debated). There's (a) 3 headlining acts, (b) 1 late night on What, and (c) a big-time act late night on Which.
2008: (a) Pearl Jam, Metallica, Widespread Panic / (b) Kanye West / (c) My Morning Jacket 2009: (a) Beastie Boys, Phish 2, Bruce Springsteen / (b) Phish 1 / (c) Nine Inch Nails 2010: (a) Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, DMB / (b) Jay-Z / (c) The Flaming Lips
Usually C is a pretty big act but not big enough to carry a headlining spot. Obviously Bonnaroo could do whatever they want, but that's a fairly good formula to predict the top acts for next year.
What I think is realistic and would like to see:
Friday Rage or White Stripes (Headliner) Daft Punk (LN What) Primus (Which Closer) Arctic Monkeys (What Pre)
Saturday Neil Young & CH (Headliner) Trey, Furthur or SCI (LN Which) The Roots (Which Closer) Allman Brothers (What Pre)
I would also kill to see an "All Stars of Bonnaroo" SuperJam that involved Trey Anastasio, Warren Haynes, Les Claypool, John Medeski, Jeff Coffin and Stanton Moore. Yes, I would take that over just about anything. I get excited purely thinking about it.

Clearly the most possible and realistic lineup would be something like
Fri: Radiohead Sat: Either Led Zeppelin or Roger Waters/Gilmore reunion Sat What: Daft punk Sunday: Phish Mon: The ressurected corpses of Michael Jackson

tl;dr. By definition, bonnaroo has 3 headliners every year. 3.
According to Bad News Beat "Neil has lent back up vocals (as did Brian Wilson) on a new album featuring Elton John and Leon Russell. Should make for an interesting album."
Could anybody else see:
Fri: Neil Sat: Brian Wilson > Leon Russel and Elton John w/ Neil and Brian guesting

I don't know if it would happen but I'd love to see that.
I don't know how well that would sit with the younger crowd though. I'm 26 but I get weird looks whenever I go on about Elton John to just about anyone in the same age group. I read recently that he played Rush Limbaugh's 90th wedding for a million dollars. He obviously doesn't need the money and I doubt he was doing Rush a friendly favor. I'm thinking he just can't say no when he's asked to play.
Ok how about Neil switches to Sunday and they have a young popular band on Friday. I feel that would have a fairly similar appeal to this years headliners.
Some young hot radio friendly band = KOL Elton John + Leon Russell = Stevie Neil Young = Dave Matthews
Then you just need another big act for the Jay-Z slot and you have a full top tier.
Also potential Friday headliner Arcade Fire Muse add to this list.
possible fri. headliners green day u2 (could be sat.) white stripes rhcp ratm
possible sat. headliners rolling stones the who mccartney waters clapton
possible late night headliners gaga daft punk eminem
-U2 would almost certainly be saturday
-RATM probably would play fri, but they would also probably top the bill, unless someone ridiculously epic headlined saturday (or sunday? was wierd to have top of the bill play sunday this year)
-Gaga or Eminem both would fit as fri headliners also. But would also work as a late night what set.
Firday: Muse (headline), Furthur (ln which) Saturday: Brian Wilson (pre-h), Elton John and Leon Russell with guests (headline), Lady Gaga (ln What) Sunday: My Morning Jacket (pre-h), Neil Young (headline)
I actually think Elton John into Gaga makes perfect sense. I would say there is a direct evolution from the music of Elton John to the music of Lady Gaga very similar to the evolution from Stevie Wonder to Jay-Z.
Just to specify the guest in the Elton John set include Brian Wilson, Lady Gaga, and Neil Young. I find something highly intriguing about the possibility of Neil Young and Lady Gaga on the same stage.
Also, not a headliner but I think a good fit before Brian Wilson would be Jerry Lee Lewis. I could easily see him guest with Elton John and I know Neil would guest with him.
