Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Most people are saying Furthur is the best post-Dead project yet. And, from the soundboards, I might have to agree (although I did love the Phil & Friends lineups of Trey and Warren/Herring).
This may be slightly off topic, but I think we all can agree that Bonnaroo 2011 will be massive unlike we've ever seen on the farm. I think a few things need to be amended for this next fest:
1) The What stage area needs to be expanded. Push back the VIP camping because that field was absolutely packed to the crappers during KoL and Stevie.
2) There needs to be a late-night Sunday player. Someone big.
3) The past few years' build-ups have shown that Roo is due for a late night elctronic act on the What stage... maybe as a headliner... idk, but definitely in that field, someone massive late night.
4) There needs to be a superjam. Maybe on the Which pre-headliner spot or late night spot.
5) There needs to be someone else playing during headlining spots, completey against the style of the headliner.

Want ( I know its not happening) Friday: Wolfmother < Strokes < Outkast Saturday: Phoenix < Paul McCartney < MGMT (which) Sunday: Dispatch (which) < MMJ (just so inforooers can all calm down for a while)
I have that the following bands have albums releasing soon or in 2011. If any of these are wrong, please correct me.
*Outkast *MIA *Eminem *Lupe Fiasco *The Roots *Rush *U2 *John Mellencamp *Neil Young *REM *Iron Maiden *Arcade Fire *Maroon 5 *Cake *Death Cab *Fleet Foxes *Ben Harper and Relentless 7 *The Mars Volta *No Doubt *OAR *Of Montreal *The Shins *The Strokes *Lady Gage *Blink 182
AndyMorgan I am not convinced 2011 will be as big as you are thinking it will be. It will be as big as previous years with perhaps a couple jaw dropping headliners. To speak to what you are asking for...
They will not add late nights on Sunday, ever. They want us all to leave and get the clean up started.
I agree the return of the Superjam is a great idea but we'll see
Few electronic acts are big enough to headline one of the main stages. Daft yes, few others maybe, 98% of artists no. Expect maybe a couple big LN tent acts and a return of Lunar (a success story of 2010 and a great addition to the farm, though it needs to be re-thought)
Headliners will not be opposed unless we see another Byrne/Beasties situation

Try 99.99% I really think Daft Punk is probably the only one who could hold down what, and even that might be a challenge (there used to be alot of controversy on these board over whether they could) I'm hard-pressed to think of anyone else who could have a chance. The headliners of Ultra, North America's biggest electronic music festival, all did small tents at Bonnaroo (Tiesto, Deadmau5, etc) What electro acts would have any chance? Someone like Prodigy or Chemical Brothers MIGHT have a chance to hold down a Which stage slot. I really can't think of anyone else who would have a chance with What.
i totally agree with laggy...daft punk is unfortunatly the only elctro group that could hold the what crowd....possibly STS9 (Which wouldve happened years ago if ever)...but with the direction that Roo is going I dont ever see that happening.

I am going to chime in here, because informed speculation is fun to debate over. I agree with others whom have stated that next year's lineup will not be bigger than previous years' lineups. Bonnaroo is a business venture, and business exist to make money. All of the hype about the ten year anniversary is simply marketing. That said:
Fri - MMJ - And why not? MMJ would fit the Bonnaroo template. They are are contemporary rock act, which is par for Friday night. Some might argue that they are not a big enough band to hold down the Friday not spot, but a lot of people felt that way about KOL (myself included) and they seemed to pull it off.
Sat - U2 / Daft Punk late night - While U2 wouldn't be my first choice for the Saturday spot, I believe they will be touring next summer to make up for all the dates they had to cancel this year. Being a seasoned rock band and the fact they sell out arenas, they fit the Bonnaroo template. I would rather see The Who in this spot, as they will be touring next summer, but either Lolla or Coachella will scoop them up to be an exclusive headliner (I'm calling it!). For the late night, Daft Punk. Daft Punk has a new album (Tron soundtrack) coming out in November, so they will probably be touring next summer. They have yet to play the farm and since they have played Coachella in recent history, Bonnaroo seems a logical tour spot.
Sun - WSP or Further - I am sure both bands with be touring next summer.
Daft Punk is the only techno act that could play What. The Prodigy isn't big enough, neither are the Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Basement Jaxx, Moby or Fatboy Slim.
Not that I care, techno is my least favorite kind of music on the farm. Although I would like to see Daft Punk (which is how I think a lot of people feel, making them more appealing).

Fri Headliner- Rage Against the Machine, Midnights - MMJ, Empire of the Sun, STS9, Pretty Lights, Pre-headliners- Them Crooked Vultures, Ben Harper Sat Headliner- Paul Mccartney, Midnights Daft Punk What stage, Ghostland Observatory tent, Moe tent, Pre Headliner- Wilco, Vampire Weekend, Gogol Bordello, Band of Horses, The Strokes Sunday- Phish, preheadliner Allman Brothers
This would make me very happy and seems somewhat realistic maybe too many big names in the lineup though

If Rush Limbaugh could get Elton John, there's no reason bonnaroo shouldn't be able to snag him this year. Not a huge fan, but I'd prefer him over most of the other classic rock possibilities being thrown around.

I won tickets to see Elton a few years ago. I was actually suprised at how much fun that show was. He played a little over 2 hours and totally killed it, even the cover of "Oh My Sweet Carolina".
