Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
As for Animal Collective, maybe it was just their bad sound setup or the fact that they played daytime last year, but I remember reading an interview with them where they said they didnt really dig the vibe at their Bonnaroo set in '09... could possibly see them not playing again, though I really hope they do, and a late night at that.
I could see MGMT coming back again next year, they always have a good reaction at 'roo and their new album > their first one.
I could personally see it as
Friday - Daft Punk Saturday - an older headliner (neil young, paul mcartney, bowie PLEASSSSEEEEEE) Sunday - MMJ closes the fest.

They said it was too fuckin hot. I think they'd come back for the latenight they deserve.

I waited a month to read this thread, as it seems that's the first significant amount of time we've passed till '11, and just caught up... had a few random thoughts
Would not be thrilled or most likely see U2
Have seen and would def not see again... RATM... all their songs sound too similar and it wouldn't be a great roo band (ie metallica). Their hits are awesome but not quite enough of them to be worth it. Muse.... great light show actually and would be pretty decent draw... just, personally, get kinda annoyed with their sound after awhile....
Maybe... The Killers... I was really excited for this show and about a third of it was pretty awesome... they just sound too much like their cd and def talk too much. Cool lights... can't say I wouldn't be there for it just aren't cheering much.
Wilco... I can't believe, nodep, you like them that much and think they could put on a mmj'ish show. I've listened to them a lot and walked past their show at roo a year or two and they are just aren't exciting enough. They're like a band I'd rather take a nap to. If they ever come up again at a good time for me, ill give it another chance.. but i'd be stunned if they ever end up headlining anything like bonnaroo. They're probably just like modest mouse is to me, who think Modest Mouse is worthy of headlining but know majority would disagree
I think we have a chance at radiohead because it is commonly known to be one of the best shows of that year and at bonnaroo ever and, IMO, it looks like (from the youtube videos) they had a lot of fun. Radiohead's all about sending messages and it seems like if they are touring and choosing festivals they might as well pick bonnaroo for a special repeat anniversary show ,as they've been around by now. Honestly everything else that weekend would likely be icing on the cake.
I saw Daft Punk at lolla and was completely unprepared for the experience. Anyone who thinks it would not only be one of the most packed and, more importantly.... craziest crowd movements in bonnaroo history is completely uninformed and has never seen daft punk. Three years later, I'm not sure what that show would do to me 3 am at bonnaroo.
I think anyone who used to really be into Incubus, Smashing Pumpkins (who i think would have a headining slot on what if there), and actually Blink would really enjoy them at roo, seen them all in last year. Incubus would be good at the Weezer slot from last year. I'd be stunned if Blink was on the bill and wouldn't be all that thrilled, either.
Devo would surprise the hell out of whoever was down on them earlier and everyone else who stopped by wondering wtf was going on at that (or whichever) stage.

i would say that makes U2 less likely for 'roo but Radiohead more likely.
Hmmmmm.......I would say it's the other way around.
No I agree with radiospirit. If U2 is playing glasto it will be a big deal they're playing a festy which they normally never do, and glasto wouldnt want them playing roo right before.
But radiohead, they play festivals all the time. And the very fact that theyre out there playing shows and touring makes it more likely they could play bonnaroo

What the above two said. If U2 plays Glastonbury, it's almost a guarantee that it will be the only festival they play that year. Glasto wouldn't let that big of an act play anywhere else, especially the week before.

people said the same thing about Bruce Springsteen though. He didnt play many fests and is a legendary act. everybody on this board said that he wouldnt do both and he did.
seeing that they are on different continents id say it does play much of an impact. besides as far as we know U2 could of already been signed on for Bonnaroo 2011 before they had to pull out of glastonbury this year, and they may be doin it this year to make up for them canceling.

right, but it's not so much the logistics as how they hyped the fact that Glastonbury would be their first festival in forever. Now, obviously if U2 had signed with Bonnaroo X already, there's nothing Glasto could do about it, but if not, i still think they would try veryyy hard to get that exclusivity agreement. i also think Bono and the gang would be more inclined to make their festival comeback in the UK rather than the US. that's complete speculation though.

from interviews with ashley capps in the past it has seemed that bonnaroo begins after the headliners long in advance, whether or not they have already signed headliners i dont know, but im sure they are in negotiations and have been for sometime.
