beat me to it :-(
But on the brightside for me, I'll get them out of my system before Roo anyways: 5/21/11 – Orlando, FL @ Hard Rock Live (Tickets on-sale Feb 4) 5/22/11 – Boca Raton, FL @ Sunset Cove Amphitheater (Tickets on-sale Feb 4) I'll be at Boca for sure and very possibly Orlando as well if my friends up there are going :-D
At least it's a big tour, they're going all over the place! Deftones and Dillinger.. what a combo. Hoping to catch the Jersey show AND the Philly show! BTW if you've never seen DEP live, DO IT. Their live shows are the best!

I'm gonna go ahead and get this campaign started again.
I honestly almost forgot how much I quacking love this band before their set at Lolla Contender for best set of the weekend for sure. But I gotta give that to MMJ or APC
I don't get the deftones. I've always wanted to enjoy them because a ton of my friends do but I just really don't see what seperates them from most middle of the line alt rock/nu metal. I have White Pony, and it's okay I guess but I just don't get why these guys get separated from like 500 bands that I think they sound exactly the same as. Moral being I'd rather see someone else get the decently high billed spot these guys would.

The Deftones begat or at least heavily inspired a ton of terrible bands that missed the point entirely. Said bands took the Deftones energy and funneled it into lyrically blatant, emotionally redneck meathead rock. To someone not familiar with the whole nu metal movement, the Deftones get shuffled into the mix all too easily. When you look at them on their own and really take in their scope of work, they are absolutely brilliant. Chino really pushed the bounds of the definition of metal and never really obeyed the status quo.
Also, I can't say enough about their live shows. You could go to a Deftones show without knowing 1 note to any of their songs and still be blown away.

I slit the sheet. The sheet I slit and on the slitted sheet I sit.

I posted a thread about this in Which stage but I know alot of posters don't make it over there. Chino has a new project called "Crosses". It's alot like team sleep. Kind of trip-hoppy. I've been loving it. If you like deftones you should definitely check it out.

I had heard a few Deftones songs at this point, and when Incubus opened fer them back in...2000/2001 I think, I absolutely hated havin' to stay fer their headlinin' set. I already hadn't enjoyed anythin' I had heard from them at that point though. Since, I have enjoyed a very small handful of songs (most ironically "Passenger" featurin' another artist I just don't get/can't stand Maynard). Their live show that night was just awful fer me. And when another favorite band dredg opened fer the Deftones years later, I left early unwillin' to stay.
Now, all that aside, I do hope you fans get your Deftones set. Really! I know there will be enough else fer me to do/see while they rock y'alls socks off!
