I didn't go to Roo in 2010, but I've read the many Pottie reviews on here
I totally agree, those guys deserve the Roo contact based on what I saw. Completely professional, and what I found was always pretty pristine, at all times of day, right up until at least 8AM Monday, when I left this morning. And I never saw one that wasn't stocked with dry TP. These guys took pride in their work.
Also, AllGood had a ton of them all over the place, and almost never much of a line, which is always a major festival plus in my book. The more there are, and the more scattered they are in the campgrounds, and inside, the better.
I thought Bonnaroo was pretty top notch with this in '08 and '09 though, though a few more more in BFE last year would have helped. Sucks that they dropped the ball so bad this year. Major pet peeve of mine at all large outdoor public gatherings, but especially at a camping festival.
a friend of mine who went said that fest is run much better than Bonnaroo. i wonder what the attendance is there?
25k, and not really better run per se. The security getting into the venue was ridiculous, the line took 4-5 hours. However they got the portos right for sure this year, also they seem to have really cracked down on the NO2 mafia in a big way which really helps.
You guys are always talking shi*t . Would the portas be that nice if Allgood was 80,000 people like Roo and not just 25Kish. I would think AC would have to go with a local company or maybe you could import someone, I do not know. Did they clean the portas more than once per day. I know at Roo they were cleaned first thing in the AM. that is when I took my poo. Just for the record, I never put porta potty toilet paper against my ass. I bring my own TP, but that is just me. Who knows where that TP has been. If the potties are only cleaned once/day, then the amount of people would determine the dirtiness of the potties. Put up more porta potties? the you get into a crapper every where you turn. One good idea, would work for mostly guys, put a trough urinal type potties. it is a large porta with a trough on each wall for guys to piss in, can accommodate 6-8 urinators at once, would cut done on the long line issues.
Those portos were cleaned more than once a day, possibly 3 or 4 times. This was absolutely, hands down, the BEST porto experience I have ever had at a festival!!
FTR: they had one of those porto urinal things in 07 at Allgood, never understood why they didnt bring it back. It was great, never a line.

There were some of these (just not this style) at Bonnaroo this year.
Last year a lady friend of mine got completely scared of the portos the first day when she opened her first potty door of roo and was greeted by a huge dookie on the back of the seat. She made herself sick by not using them the rest of the weekend and ended up leaving early. This year when we all arrived she was immediately complaining about how she couldn't stand the crappers before even using one. This was thursday morning btw. After setting up camp I took my lady friend to the portos to prove a point. I told her that they are regularly cleane the whole festival and it was just bad luck that she got a doo-doo portoo. I walked up to the first porto in the row and opened the door enthusiastically to show her the honeydippers' handywork. Upon opening I set my gaze to the back of the toilet and there sat one poop to rule them all, just kind of smiling at us from the back of the seat... my point was not well recieved.

I agree 100%! AG2010 was the best festival porto experience ever. And in the past they've been the worst festival porto experience ever. MAD PROPS! I hope this starts a trend in the festival world.
Well All Good must have gotten a new porto vendor since last year. Our was cleaned once and shit was to the top. We were out near the edge of the hill though.
When I went to Burning Man the portos were very clean, I was very impressed. Late at night they got dirtier, but 8am they were cleaner than my neighbors bathroom.

Not that many, but there definitely aren't as many campers at Coachella as Bonnaroo. But the ones inside the fest where 75,000 people definitely did show up everyday were very very clean.

I did most of my business by my campsite and they were kept up pretty good. I did however encounter the nastiness that were the portos to the right of Which Stage. Those were terrible. I guess it was all about luck this year, some bad and some good.
A memo must have gone around this year because Wakarusa had the cleanest portos I have ever seen in my life. I swear, every time I had to pee, they were being cleaned. I only found one without tp once. Plus, they had hand washing stations. Impressive.

Luck or no luck, I've found that if the sun is down the which stage portos are never a good idea
