So I just found out about inforoo a few weeks ago, and because of that I've spent a lot of time perusing around the random threads on here. Just came across this one and decided to check out the blog. I thought I'd let you know I'm really liking the site layout and the record reviews. It seems like a lot of media publications' reviews are either extremely overwrought (Pitchfork), or a two fluff paragraphs that tell you nothing of the album and then randomly give out 3.5/5 stars (Rolling Stone).
Not that I'm comparing LSB to those publications, wouldn't want to inflate your ego's too much . But seriously, I'll make sure to try to check back for more reviews and maybe check out your radio shows some time!

For anyone interested, the playlist that will go up tomorrow for my segment on LSB Radio (entitled The Fifth Dimension) will contain my Top 25 most-anticipated acts of the Bonnaroo lineup. I'd like to think there is something in there for everybody. Here's the link (although the actual playlist won't go up until tomorrow): www.lifessweetbreath.com/radio/the-fifth-dimension.html
I tried to write it without using the word "south" or "southern" once. I was sick of reading reviews of DBT records that just focused on that. I had to use it once, though, because the Truckers had to go and name their best record The Dirty South. Jerks.
Workin' on my reviews for The Go! Team and DeVotchKa. Hopefully can have them done this holiday weekend.
Awesoneness. Some random girl told me this week I reminded her of someone. I told her "Tom Waits?" she said "Who's that ?!? I was thinking Kramer!" I'd almost rather have the Waits comparison.
I'm looking forward to those reviews. I've been hearing nothing but good things about the new DeVotchKa.

LSB is back from a deep, deep slumber with an amazing review of St. Vincent's Strange Mercy, written by none other than nodepression. Check it out, it's a great read. Bookmark the site too, we'll be updating. We promise. Seriously. We're not dead.
So I went up to Seattle and I stayed in a hotel, and I don't know anyone there, and so I would just do the same thing every day: wake up and get coffee and go take a run and go to the studio for ten or twelve hours. So it pretty much evolved right in that period — that technological detox, loneliness.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
