Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
while MMJ and Primus both have moments of improv and both have killed and would kill another late night again, i personally don't consider them jambands.

either allmans, sci, or sts9, im assuming sts9 will be back it has been 4 years since they have been there so its a given for there return, Cheese all depends on how many dates they are going to do that year, allmans is a good fit for latenight but I also think they are a great preheadliner main stage.
if you look i'm sure you'd see that nothing's really as it seems and soon enough you'd realize you promise more than you'll provide the substance that we're hoping for will always leave us needing more we're calloused til we cannot feel the only moments that were real
I'm up for pretty much any of the above, but would be especially excited for the Allman Brothers Band, Umphrey's McGee, STS9, and of course the triumphant return of MMJ.
Well, I agree that My Morning Jacket isn't really a jam band in the strict sense of the term. They don't really use irregular time signatures, experimental sounds or have crazy-long extended improvisation sessions like most of the other acts people have listed. In terms of their genre, stylistically they are definitely the odd one out. They are closer to Southern or heartland rock than they are to traditional jam bands like Phish or The Dead. However, they seem to draw a lot of influence from the jam band tradition, they do improvise a decent amount, and they manage to make their songs sound somewhat different in a live setting versus on the album. In that loose sense of the term, even Led Zeppelin could be thought of as a "jam band".

Mule is doubtful. They will not tour next year. They have said they will do a few shows, so there is a slight possibility. Warren might be touring as a solo act.
^ I really hope Warren's solo act hits Roo next year. His solo shows from Feb 09 were phenomenal. He has an unreleased album recorded with George Porter Jr; I think he's waiting to release it until he has time to tour behind it.
boombox would be a good thurs late nite tent band. Not sure if they want to play roo or not, I've talked with one of the members here about it before. (they are from my area)
