I just lucked into a couple of tickets the night before I was going to see the Flips so I guess I'm gonna make a little trip out of it. Has anyone seen them?
I like Vampire Weekend. I'm going to see them in a few weeks. That will be my first time seeing them. I think Vampire Weekend is stuck in a weird middle-ground in a lot of regards, so they seem to draw a lot of ire. I like them, though. They're not great, but they're solid.
Vampire Weekend is one of my roomies favorite bands. I really like there tunes even though they are basically pop music. The drummer is good and creative, check out more here. www.blogotheque.net/Vampire-Weekend,3836
I'm going to see them on Saturday night. Seen em once before, good show, but at that point they only had the 1 album out, so they basically played all the songs off their first album, and one other and that was it. Should be more interesting now to go see them with a little more material under their belt.
Really dig their songs, very catchy and curteebee is right, their drummer is great. He uses VERY different time signatures and really shows off the bands intelligence.

Very cool, I'll make sure to post after the show and let you guys know how it goes. Laggy and Nola, I'd love to hear your reviews after you go as well. Have fun.

I just got back from a little mini vacation with the wife and we saw Vampire Weekend last Thursday in St. Augustine. They were great, we had a ton of fun. The crowd was pretty young even by Roo standards but still pretty eclectic. The drummer is definetly exceptionally talented. I posted a little video from the show so you can get a feel for it if you are considering going.
Beach House opened up for them by the way and they were also really good. I would call it kind of Bjork meets XX.
Saw em last Saturday. They were good, but not worth $45 bucks in my opinion. Lasted for about an hour and a half. Sounded great, but I just left wanting more

^good point Tickets to my show were similarly priced, but I managed to snag $10 miami beach resident student tickets on ten buck tues (thank god for my expirted student ID). Had I paid full admission... I MIGHT have found myself much less satisfied. I really don't see VW as somone I could justify paying more than $30-something for.

Saw them last night in downtown Raleigh. I thought it was exceptional. I had a blast. They had a ton more energy than I thought they would, stage show was cool, and those guys are all very talented musicians. You forget that sometimes in all the hooplah (both positive and negative) surrounding them. I'd definitely see them again if they're at Roo one year.
Beach House was awesome, too, and a perfect opener for VW.
