I saw there was a Hip Hop wish list and wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were on the electronic music they wanted to see there. By electronic music, I mean anything with an emphasis on synths (anything that would be welcome to Moogfest). My biggest ones would be:
Daft Punk Portishead Major Lazer Yacht Bibio Delorean

Flying Lotus is at or near the top of the list.
Actually, he's probably behind Daft Punk. I would also LOVE for Aphex Twin to be there. Also, Boards of Canada, Justice, Portishead, Major Lazer, Massive Attack and Four Tet and Caribou and Hot Chip (even though I'm seeing all of them at Moooooooooooooooooooog), and so many more that I just can't think of right now.

Chemical Brothers Daft Punk Chemical Brothers DJ Dan Chemical Brothers MSTRKRFT Chemical Brothers Donald Glaude Chemical Brothers Basement Jaxx Chemical Brothers DJ Funk Chemical Brothers Sasha and/or Digweed Chemical Brothers Paul Van Dyk Chemical Brothers Christopher Lawrence Chemical Brothers DJ Rap Chemical Brothers Richard Visson Chemical Brothers Bad Boy Bill Chemical Brothers
Oh, and, Massive Attack, Caribou, and Four Tet. I so wish I could go to Moogfest, but I already spent quite a bit of money for tickets to Roger Waters on the 29th.
I have been on a huge Flying Lotus kick recently and need to see him live. I was robbed of the opportunity when I saw Atoms for Peace due to absurd circumstances.
Also I would love some Four Tet, Aphex Twin, and Fuck Buttons
^ Your Thursday night would be awesome, but your Fri + Sat late nights are lacking (except DP). No FlyLo, no dice.
How about this for the late nights (not that it's realistic at all):
Daft Punk (What) FlyLo > Underworld Boards of Canada > Aphex Twin Caribou > Four Tet Air > Justice
IDM credibility abound (sort of; still not exactly sure what qualifies as "IDM," but I think it's just a collective of the electronic/dance artists that people get snotty about). No way this would happen, but I'd be beyond happy if just one or two of these took place (albeit not about the insane conflicts).
Boards of Canada haven't played a show since 2006 I think (maybe longer) so I feel like they would "headline" whatever LN tent they were in, if they were to play. I would lose my shit, they are so damn gooooood.

I agree for the most part, mcbeatz. But, not if Aphex Twin was playing the same LN tent. Then, I think he'd "headline" it over BoC. But he might be too big for a tent.

Just out of curiousity, NoD, which genres were you going to argue/which artists were you going to say are not electronic? Feel free to respond via PM if that's easier on your karma haha...I just consider "electronic" to be a pretty huge umbrella term at this point, just like "indie." Not that that's correct, it's just habitual. I'd like to hear your two cents on the matter and will not pass judgment on you for strongly stating strong opinions.

Oh god, Steve Aoki sucks so hard.
About genres, bands like Cut Copy and Empire of the Sun are just pop bands who use synthesizers, they're not dj's or producers who make their music on computers. Portishead is more experimental but I wouldn't say they were electronic either.

This is true, he is easily bigger than BoC, I just don't think they would put the two of them together like that, BoC would close friday tent and Aphex close Saturday, ideally.

Probably true, mcbeatz. That was just a sort of dream list.
I feel you in regards to bands like Cut Copy and Portishead, NoD. Makes sense to me. For the most part, it's hard for me to get on board with many genre labels. It seems like they're always either way too broad or way too specific.
