Thats awesome! Congrats! And just think, it's less than 2 months until we will be on Marvin's Mountaintop again! So jazzed about having an All Good time!
"SOJA has had to withdraw from All Good Festival 2011 - they received an opportunity to tour nationally with O.A.R. and they can't do the fest & tour. We will miss them deeply and wish them the best! However, we're thrilled to announce that Rebelution will be filling this slot with more conscious reggae vibes!"
Actually kind of happy about this turn of events. Missed Rebelution last year @ Roo, and I've seen SOJA before.
My brother and I are on the fence about AG, it all depends of funds after the Roo. As of right now we are strongly leaning toward going. We'll be heading out of Wilmington. If we go you're more then welcome to join us on our trek back to the port city.
I think I'm going to the All Good Fest this year. It's only a few hours away, so why not, right? =)
Anyone have recommendations on what it's like there? From what I have seen, it looks like it doesn't get very hot at all, in fact it has gotten in the low 50s at night, and can get really windy.
I'll probably be soloing it, and am thinking I'll just sleep in my van. Will I be able to get sleep in during the day, or is it like Roo and uncomfortably hot during the day? Also...are any inforoo'ers meeting up there?

It can get hot during the day. Nothing quite like Roo, but you'll want some sort of shade. Maybe string up a tarp over your van. The temps really drop once the sun goes down. It can get pretty damn cold at night.
Ashburn/Leesburg area. I definitely would like to meet up with you all.
I'm trying to get some more guidance about how I should approach AG. Will I be able to sleep during the day at all, or no?
Still thinking of tarp over the van as my shelter, with a fan plugged into an inverter, and windows/side doors/back door open with sheet as door. I really don't want my first AG to be like my first Roo which was brutal...no shade and no sleep... haha
The first step is to buy your ticket, especially if you want a 4 day pass. They expect to sell out by 4th of July weekend.
Generally, the earlier you get there, the better the camping spot. The terrain is quite hilly. It's possible you could end up parked on a steep slope. There are some wooded area that offer shade if you are willing to haul your gear. If you have a hammock, you could always string it up in the woods for a nap.
I don't recall it ever really being too hot to sleep, but my tent is always under a shade canopy. I can recall being so cold at night that I couldn't wait for the sun to come up and warm me up. Be prepared for a possible 40 degree temperature swing.
The terrain is hilly and some of the camping can be a 20 minute walk to the venue. But the good news is once you are inside the venue everything is really close. The two stages are side by side with alternating sets. There's no running back and forth between stages. You just find a spot on the hill and chill.
Thanks for the info! I have a sheltered hammock that I use for backcountry packing. I'm thinking I can bring that along with a 0 degree mummy bag if you think I'll be able to find a place in the woods to setup (can just remove the bag from the hammock to stay cool during the day). Do you think it would be left alone if I set it up with the rain fly (just leave the mummy bag in the hammock?)?
I can pack all of the above gear along with some food for a long (10+ mile) easy enough...it would be great to be able to relocate closer to stages.
Also...are there places to fill up water that are easily accessible, or do I need to bring my own?
Appreciate your patience with my 20 questions =) PS-I won't be able to get out there until Friday mid-afternoon at the earliest as of right now...
Last year I went in on Friday with lordrockinghood and got parked in BFE which is on the other side of a mountain. (Really a giant hill, but it seemed like a mountain.) I moved my stuff to Camp Infogood via taxi. Totally worth the hassle.
They have some giant containers with garden hoses for water, but I've never used them. I always bring my own water.

Yup, last year Friday --- we were in by 1 or 2PM and camped as FAR as you can possibly be from the concert area with a super steep hill (pretty much a MOUNTAIN) in between.
But the people BEHIND us got there on Thursday night, so... who knows
damn....hmmm, trying to figure out how I'm going to pull this off. Is there room at camp infogood for another tent? I guess I could buy a 1 or 2 peep tent....
I'm thinking I just bring my gear, water, food, and then figure it out when I get there and understand the layout better. Hiking a bunch of gear (specifically, water!) up a mountain doesn't sound like fun...taxi seems smart to me @ $3 a trip ;-)
It sounds like camping out in my car isn't a good choice unless I plan on paying out for the taxi ride/time for trip, else lose out in the energy mgmt game...
