I wanted to vote for Animal Collective, but had to give some love to TV on the Radio. Gave them my support. Don't think it will happen this year as they haven't returned from a hiatus that started a year ago. Maybe if they get together this winter, album by Spring, they could be back. I would love to see them.
I didn't get to see TVOTR in 09 (was at Al Green), but my friends who say them said there was something off about it, which disappointed me to hear. They may deserve an opportunity to redeem themselves. Same goes for Animal Collective.

That's what they said. But, I saw a number of shows on Which that year that had good sound... what exactly was it?
I couldn't hear at all where I was, so I just left after a song. I was kinda far back, but not so far that I shouldn't have been able to hear properly. And earlier for Animal Collective the sound wasn't mixed right or something like that. It was just off for AC, so I left right as soon as I saw it wasn't fixed for TVOTR.
AC's sound was totally off but that didn't completely ruin it for me and their 17 minute Fireworks/Essplode still blew my mind. I'd love for them to come back and get the LN tent they deserved. They're an iffy live band sometimes but when they're on they are fucking on, and when I saw them in Philly in 09 they killed it.

Modest Mouse provided the single worst show I've ever seen.
As far as AC, the show sucked so bad that I left before that. I'm sure it was great. I just wish that I had caught them when they were actually good. All the MPP material and lack of imagination probably didn't help.

I've got friends who've seen MM multiple times... coincidentally, the shows WITHOUT Johnny Marr have been the ones to have received the good reviews, the ones with... not so much. The one I saw, he wasn't there, and it was great.
I think MPP is a great album but it is really frustrating when they only play new stuff, although them busting out Slippi towards the end was great, and when I saw them in philly we also got radically reworked versions of leaf house and who could win a rabbit, and since Sung Tongs is my favorite AC album, that was incredible.
