I searched for hotels in Manchester and they look to be around $350-500 per night that weekend. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is closer to $200 a night, or even less?
im pretty sure you are out of luck. Murphreeboro is going to be your best bet, and plan on $120 per night, then you can plan on a 1 hour drive to and from, plus you have to wait in that god awful line twice.
I really thought about doing a hotel in 2011, but you spend soooo much for just a little time off the farm. Consider, you leave the farm at 3am, and you make good time and your in your room at 4, quick shower, then in bed at 4:30 on frday you want to be headed that way at say 9:30, so that you can be on the farm for the first of the concerts, sat and sun the line to get in isnt bad, so you head that way at say 10:30.
You are talking about spending an extra 600 bucks for 5 or 6 hours of sleep a night at a hotel, plus atleast an extra 20 to 30 in gas. On top of that, you will be subject to sobriety checkpoints and searches for your drive between the farm and hotel.
I intend to buy the vip package, then try to sale a ticket for ~$650.

Thanks. I had a feeling I was out of luck. I did VIP in 07 and 08 and stayed at a hotel 30 min from manchester in 09 (skipped 10). I enjoyed and saw a lot more with VIP. Hotel was too far away and driving each night was tiring .
I think VIP is a done deal for me now. I just hope the price doesn't increase too much. Wish they brought back food too : )
Yeah, I would love for free food to be included in vip once again. I think either they were cutting corners so they could make the improvements they wanted to make (hopefully screens for Which, more filtered water stations, more shaded areas, etc), or they just got tired of the bitching about people missing meal times.
Ive been in 2008 and this year, went GA both times, 2008 was great, but would have been better had I not broken my ankle during Metallica, and I also had a TON of trouble finding my campsite each night. 2010 was great aswell, but I got parked in BFE, and had a ~35 minute walk to and from centeroo, on top of that, I slept only about 6 hours from the time I left my house wednesday night, til the time I returned home 4am Monday.

It's maybe under an hour for going from Centeroo to Murfreesboro, depending on where exactly. And I was only at $70 a night, not 120.
Saturday I saw GWAR late night - left Centeroo at 345. Got to the car at 4, was in Murfreesboro a little after 430, after a shower and in bed by 450 or so. Slept till 1030, then was down at Centeroo by 1230 Sunday afternoon.
i'm pretty sre you're not going to find a cheap hotel in manchester, if you HAVE to sleep in a motel/hotel then you might have to go to one of the neighboring cities like winchester or murfeesboro, but honestly to fully experience bonnaroo you HAVE to camp. no doubt about it. even if its in an rv, i honestly prefer a tent but thats just me. I hope that you'll just try the camping experience before you do the hotel thing, plus if you leave and come back everyday of roo then you will have to walk reall REALLLLY far to get back to centeroo from where they park you, trust me i know, past experiences.

I've been calling around and some hotels in Manchester aren't taking reservations yet. I'm the second person on a call back list at one place, and another told me to call back on New Years. I have been findind rooms in Murfeesboro for $50-$80 a night though..

I found a hotel thattt's right down the street from bonnaroo with rooms available for $30+tax a night. But I can't find any pictures or rewiews of this place so I'm assuming it's sleezy.
