you booked the RV this advanced? How long is the trip from Chicago?
Idk man, RV's are so expensive, especially traveling 800+ miles to get to the farm. I've done the math and it would be cheaper to go VIP tent and drive my car.
Yes, we book the RV this far in advance every year. If we decide to opt out it cost me $50 dollars. Not a huge deal. We have been doing this for 8 years now. We started renting in chicago but it was too far to drive and the party driving down was getting out of control. We now rent from Nashville. Pick up the RV on thursday morning and go straight to the farm. We are usually in by 3pm with no issues. If you have 6 people for the RV its only $250 bucks per person if that.
The AC and the nice place to chill is well worth the cost and its not even close to the VIp cost. We are an experience group and I think we have this down to a T at this point.

My group is debating doing the RV trip from Chicago. Last year four of us drove in one truck which was great, but this year we are bringing 6-8 people, making at least two cars necessary. Instead of that we are half decided on RV. Air conditioning and a shower are the biggest selling points.
Like I said, Ive done the RV from Chi. Its more expensive because of gas. Also, the drive down in an RV isnt bad but the drive back sucks. Unless you are not driving and then you can crash in a bed on the way back. With 8 guys getting hammered it was just easier driving 2 cars to nashville and jumping in the RV. Also you can only go so fast in an RV. Just some points to think about. Either way its a WIN at the ROO!
We've been looking at renting an RV as well but the places we've been looking at charge for mileage overage as well as gas. Common practice or are we getting shafted?

Pretty common practice. We've rented an RV for every year we went and I would say take a look at Cruise America. They seem to be the best company to deal with as far as not trying to get extra money from you.

hmph. You must be getting a sweet deal. There are also 6 of us in my group, but when I did the math last year it was closer to 400 per person to rent an RV. Thanks for the idea, man!
