It is my humble opinion that a really great way to release the lineup this year would be to do it on RooRadio and designate a start time and simply play one song by each band, increasing in tiers until the headliners. Ideally they could release it on a Friday night, starting around 5... Pre-Roo Party anyone??
I've been a fan of them announcing one or two a day over three or four months. That would bring constant attention to the festival (think Kanye's GOOD Friday release) and give people more time to investigate each artist a little more in depth rather than dumping most of them at the same time.

I kinda think I prefer the old lineup at midnight deal like r said. But then, I'm not terribly picky. I just hope they don't do the whole "everybody make your own announcement" thing again. That basically meant every single artist leaked, one at a time, and I'm probably in the minority but I HATE lineup leaks.
Announcing the acts by playing a song by each would be kinda cool, though. Give people a chance to hear all of the acts a little bit. But I agree with natedogg that the Radio Bonnaroo thing seems way too glitchy and unreliable. Couldn't get it to work at all earlier today when I tried it.

Thanks for the love, just had this idea last night and was just imagining having a bunch of my friends over (mostly first timers going this year) and whatnot.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
That sounds like a good idea. It would be a good way to be surprised by your favorite bands. Seems like it would be exciting when a song suddenly comes on by a band that you know.
It's a cool idea...BUT the suspense would kill me waiting for each and every song. I like just being able to see the whole lineup all at once, but hey that's just me.
While I like the idea, I just don't think it would work. The amount of people tunin' into 'Roo Radio would probably crash the damn things web-server or whatever tech thing it runs off of (except fer the locals who might be able to get it over the airwaves [side question when is Radio 'Roo on the air durin' the year in the Farm's local area?]). That and I'd have to dedicate like a whole damn day to listenin' to it and some artists that probably just wouldn't do it fer me. I'm picky. I think in some other thread someone mentioned the idea of releasin' the lineup in blocks of 3-5 artists, and I think that would be cool. Every half-hour or so. Give you a chance to check 'em out on your own when you've got the time ta kill.
