What I was thinking the whole time I read this thread. If I was waiting in line to get a great spot for a show and some dude just showed up, dropped some money to the bouncer and got in before me I'd be way pissed. That's really not the roo spirit.
Maybe in your bizarro-socialist Obama nation that's uncouth, but here in the real world we call that capitalism, baby. Survival of the fittest. Money = happiness.
Or do you get upset that the people in VIP get better treatment because they paid more, too?
Shut up. There is a massive difference between paying for VIP and paying a security guard to look the other way while you play cutsies because you have some stupid notion that your time is more valuable than mine and that you don't deserve to wait in line.
There shouldn't have to be a survival of the fittest attitude towards others at a festival that's supposed to be about community. You can save the response about how you don't give a shit about all that stupid hippie "peace and love" nonsense, I don't need to hear it.
People can try all they want, I seriously doubt it will help much. Security knows that if they get caught a. they will be fired b. it could lead to a lot of people crashing the pit if they see others getting in after they stood in line all day. Personally I would be irritated if I saw it go down, but a quick video taping with my phone and showing a boss security person should clear it up real quick.
So what you're saying is, I should walk around Bonnaroo with my cell-phone out, taping illegal activity and then playing it for the authorities? For someone who plays the role of the faux-hippie you're quite the narc.
? It is not illegal for them to take bribes, or for me to show a security supervisor evidence of conduct that could lead to mass trampling. If I saw someone bribing security so they could bring road flares into centeroo. Also out of curiosity who says I am hippy faux or otherwise? Other than Phish, The Dead, or SCI (and SCI is a distant third) I do not care for most jambands except those that are jazz based like Garage a trois, or maybe Pnuma trio.
Just because I enjoy eating corn and listening to good tunes does not mean you should assume I am hippy faux or otherwise. I do not assume you are bloodsucking scum just because you are a lawyer after all.
Um.. guys. when it comes down to it, it doesn't take much planning or timing to get into most of the pits at What. Every year I roll into at least two without much effort because the pit is pretty big and ppl ALWAYS leave for one reason or another, just gotta be patient.
So in the end, that fool just lost 20 bucks. and ya, of course tip the bar braah.
As far as the tipping to get a better camping spot, I don't know if I agree with that, but whatever. I totally agree with tipping your barman, that job can be hell and they deserve it.
I guess I just misunderstood your sarcasm. It's just a frustrating subject because I DID run into kids like that last year at roo and it pisses me off. Like those kids that shove past you in a packed tent show because they think for whatever shitty reason that they deserve to be able to get to shows late and then force themselves into a spot that someone like myself waits patiently for.
I mean that kind of stuff has always happened, but last year it was real bad.
I love the pizza. The "I heart spicy pie" places after a nice late night set are awesome.
They were at Waka and I ate it everyday and made friends with the people working. Then we found the same stand over by the Which stage and got fat some more. That is such good pizza. I'm very hungry now....
The fire roasted pizza for 10$ was AWESOME. But sat morning, dehydrated and malnourished, from the lack of sleep and abundance of corn........I had an Indian dish that was sublime. I mean it, that meal was spiritual. Curry, rice, red potatoes, ect. Bonnaroo has a thing for memorable meals ;D
Ther are alot of Judgemental Hypocrites on this site.....alot of cool people too.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
