i'm sure this was talked about 10 pages back, so if someone could let me know that'd be great, but Dave tweeted a video that DMB would be at bonnaroo - unless i'm not seeing things correctly.
Hmmm. It's sorta weird that he lists two Rooclue bands (Wavves and Kylesa) in a row. Then he doesn't mention The Drums or Karen Elson, which are the likely answers for two other clues. At least I didn't see them?

First off, Who is massive attack? and why is that name on everyones top ten? Second how do you people want Neil Young so bad, but when he get back together with his first widely succesful band, which just so happens to be (IMO) is best band and one of the greatest Rock bands of all time, you get pissed? If BS comes it will be legendary, you are all off your rockers!

also, in that twitter line up everyone is talking about - very few electronic/late night acts. which bums me out. i see groove, massive, girl talk just off the top of my head without looking back. i think that lineup is believable, but kind of a letdown for me in the electro dept. would have liked to have seen crystle cas in there this year. still hoping.

I agree with the poster above....I mean its cool that Buffalo Springfield would play Roo...but lets be honest...they arent a big deal and shouldn't be a headliner...
Why would Buffalo Springfield be a bigger deal than Stevie Wonder? Is it because it's a rare act? Hell, Stevie doesn't perform much. Don't get me wrong Juggs, not trying to start an argument here, but I would say Stevie, with his 70s catalogue is equal to or better than Buffalo Springfield. But if they're playing covers of other Neil Young songs, then my argument is worthless. Eh, it don't matter. We got THE band everybody wanted, THE person everybody wanted, and THE latenight everybody wanted. No complaints from me, except where's my ticket?

Buffalo Springfield wouldn't be once in a lifetime. They just played together. That would be twice in a lifetime. They would be a rare act, sure, but not exactly the type that would sell to the younger crowd. This won't happen.

They had a whole stage of electronic music last year that wasn't announced on the initial lineup. Who is to say it won't be that way again this year? Only time will tell.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

Buffalo Springfield jump started the musical career of Neil Young. That (they) are a huge deal and I will be ecstatic to see their name on the list.
what planet are you people on that Buffalo Springfield is even still relevant?
i couldnt name a single song. i had to wikipedia them to see who the band is.
they last made music in 1968. that is not exactly headlining material for the biggest music festival in america, as far as i am concerned. great, stills was in the band - young too. wow.
there goes my karma, but quack it - just being honest.
I'm 100% with you. I know i'm in the minority on this board in that I actually like mainstream music and don't care for jam bands, but damn...if this is the lineup, i'll be pissed.
I mean, everyone complained last year and we had Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Kings of Leon (whatever they put on a hell of a show), Weezer, Deadmau5, Flips....
I mean, are they trying to drive the young crowd away this year? I get that Bonnaroo started off as more of a jam-band, classic rock fest....but I honestly have never even heard of Buffalo Springfield and I can guarantee my friends haven't either.
Don't get me wrong, I am completely cool with big jam bands and folk/classic rock bands being there...just throw us young kids a bone too...and just having Eminem and Arcade Fire isn't enough IMO.
Also who the fuck hasn't heard of For What It's Worth? It's in every stupid movie about the 60s ever made. It's arguably the defining song of that time.
Buffalo Springfield IS happening. I have a very good source.
Not saying I'm happy about it...
I could be wrong but im pretty sure Brokenlight is what Natedogg changed his name to before deleting his account. It definately appears that way if you look back in the Eminem thread
Wrong. Just a quick lyric from one of my fave Beatles songs. Plus - I just joined today.

Buffalo Springfield at Bonnaroo is a once in a lifetime thing.
Flaming Lips playing DSOTM in it's entirety at Bonnaroo was a once in a lifetime thing.
They played it at another show.....but doing it at Bonnaroo was a once in a lifetime thing.

Stevie Wonder performs all the time. He's in my area at least once a year.
Buffalo Springfield broke up 40 years ago. They haven't played except for one short bit at the Bridge School Benefit last fall. For Bonnaroo to snag the first full, real show out of them in 42 years would be a HUGE get.
It has less to do with comparing catalogs than it does with the hype that would come along with it. Ashley Capps was tweeting about a "once in a lifetime show," well, this would be it.
Stevie Wonder doesn't perform all the time. He may perform in the biggest of the big cities, but that's not performing all the time. And just because you live near or in the biggest of the big cities where Stevie makes an appearance once a year doesn't equal to performing all the time. But yeah, I get what you're saying. A band that hasn't performed together outside one benefit in forty years is a bigger get than somebody who performs all the time in the biggest of the big cities, albeit the forty year band stating they will be touring in the future. But I understand where you are coming from, the hype is bigger, therefore they're higher on the lineup. If it was CSNY, then that's the consensus #1 and if anybody argued otherwise, then they're either stupid, born yesterday, or are just trolling.
Also who the quack hasn't heard of For What It's Worth? It's in every stupid movie about the 60s ever made. It's arguably the defining song of that time.
Many people know the song. Not many people know the name of the song or who it was that played it.
Also who the quack hasn't heard of For What It's Worth? It's in every stupid movie about the 60s ever made. It's arguably the defining song of that time.
Nobody is saying they suck, just that people don't know who in the hell they are. If it wasn't for the rare factor, most people would prefer a straight Neil Young show.

You mean like Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Weir, Robert Plant or a bunch of other people that have been on the top of the lineup in previous years that were jamming before most Roo attendees were born?
what planet are you people on that Buffalo Springfield is even still relevant?

Whatever, i'll still have a good time.
None of my friends know who Arcade Fire is, it all evens out.

So you're saying anything that happens at Bonnaroo is a once in a lifetime thing. You must be AC's long lost cousin or something.

Not saying I'm happy about it...
How are you not happy about that? that's just as good as neil young and crazy horse if not better, and if true will be the entire reason I go.
I would've preferred a "classic" act with more than 3 albums to pull from - that's all. I get the interest - and can't deny the talent - but got my hopes up for a bigger act (i.e., The Stones, McCartney, etc.)
